Did a track day yesterday.
My mate took his ph2 172 (stripped out track car) and it was his first session with his new fandango custom made rear shocks. These things look the absolute boll0cks and have 12 settings.
He really really struggled with lift off oversteer all day. It was really...
Every village has one...
Nice car dan. Its good to see a standard one that hasn't been b*stardised.
(Although if it was mine i'd fit HID's, and ph2 rear lighs and a pipercross panel filter...)
If you screw it up, send it to the bodyshop. You were going to do that anyway so you can't lose.
Honestly, just take your time and you'll be fine. Check out the detailing section on here and the detailingworld forum. You'll be suprised at how easy it all is.
If it was me, i'd get as much of that out as I could with some wet and dry and a good polish. It will look infinately better.
For a start £100 is expensive for a mobile guy. (My bloke charges me £35 for a bumper corner)
And mobile people are nowhere near as good as a proper bodyshop.
What. What in the fcuk.
Today I had to underwrite an Audi TT. 3.2 manual with 55k on an 04 plate. (Not the same as yours steve granted.)
But the car booked at 6000 ish.
I've just looked on pistonheads and they're going for about 9-10k!!! Who the funk would pay 9-10k for one???
Yeah what he said.
I don't mean to sound rude but from a dealer and on a forecourt £2999 is about top money for a 9 year old french hatchback.
If you need it done by feb 7th then the car needs to be priced at £2200 ono.
Looks brilliant. Apart from that stupid tow eye. The silver looks good against the (gay) yellow paintwork. And we all know you can't go wrong with Turinis. Fcuk the haters.
Now take that sticker off the tailgate and put some new style Renault Sport badges on it. :D
Granted the cars do look a lot better when lowered, but imho, there isnt a better handling 'hot hatch' on the road today. I personally think renault spent millions of pounds developing these cars with keen drivers in mind. Some lowering springs made by Herman will only retract some of that.
My...
If its the 8v version, I'm going with theidle control valve.
Whip it off, clean it all out with some brake cleaner and re fit. They get gunked up in shite and it stops them moving freely.
Yeah its pretty much done mate. Just needs a windscreen and an MOT. I still drive it every now and again on trade plates but i'm moving at the minute so its not been touched for the last 3 weeks or so.
Its currently completely empty inside as I was halfway through fitting a weld in cage. But...
I'm not sure, i'm not a mechanic.
All I can say is that I've had 3 clio 16v's, and 3 williams and the williams is a completely beast. I personally wouldn't bother fitting a 1800 head to a 2.0 bottom end.
Either fit the complete 2.0 or tune the 1800 with bodies etc.
I ran it for about 3000 miles. Was fine but there was room for massive improvement.
The 1800 head (imo) restricted the car quite a lot compared to Williams i've owned in the past.
He built a good engine though! Didn't use a drop of oil or water in the time I owned it.
Thats lovely. White wheels are for steers and queers, ignore those assholes above.
It looks like the perfect mix of useabilty and track prepped.
you deserve a pat on the back sir.
