Bilstein if you're a track boy
the H&R's have Biltsein mono tube inserts, the Billies are identical to look at but have different spring and damping rates (non adjust)
FK's aren't even of the same level as H&R's
i've got FK's, but i'll be changing
H&R's are setup perfectly, no need for adjustment (plus 90% of people won't know how to set up "damping adj coilovers" anyway)
oh btw "if" you go the route you're suggesting that you're going, make sure the caliper mountings are like this
http://www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk/radial_billet.htm (radial mount, so you can have brackets made)
and not like this (with built in mounts)...
no, thats the good thing with 4pots, the pads are generic (mine are from a volvo 240, all hispec billet 4's are)
AP have there own specific pad sizes, they'll fit on whatever car as long as it has AP calipers, and the pad is the correct size for that caliper
if you can hang on til friday i'll do it all for you mate (and you know about my special rate especially for you sweetie pie ;))
i'll see if i can get the day off on wednesday
all 4pot calipers are pretty much the same, as are the discs
example, i took 330mm discs off a fiat 360 and bolted them onto a M3 GTR on saturday due to a crack
the only difference between the 2 is the caliper mounting brackets, and the alloy bells
calipers are a "one size fits all" type...
its 10mm MDF covered in black carpet from halfords
i used cardboard to make a template, bit of jigsaw action, bit of spray glue, go mad with the staple gun
job done
(if anyone wants a template in paper, i don't mind tracing round mine, you pay for paper and postage!)
well our demo engine makes the same torque at 3500rpm as a std engine does at 5K (peaks at 170odd at aorund 5K)
to answer your question, yes along those lines
on standard stuff they'll be fucked after 6 straight goes i would guess
there's several ways to improve braking
bigger discs - means a higher torque can be applied to the disc (kind've hard to explain in simple terms, a bit like a pivot point)
different pad/disc materials
higher caliper pad...
