Yeah but you're going to all the trouble of putting in a completely unique engine (in terms of conversions) and then you want to make it look like 99.9% of all the other 172s.
You have so much more potential with this car!
Make sure its had a full belt kit. Just changing the belt is a pointless exercise if the tensioner gives up in 3 months time.
Welcome to the club btw, get your tenner out.
Take the whole car apart bolt by bolt, then put it back together.
On a better note, remove all the seats, give it a proper deep clean and put it all back together. Very satisfying.
Make sure its from a saxo VTS? My ''mate'' went to buy an engine for a toyota MR2 and bought a 1600 Corolla lump.
Fcuktard.
Check the engine number with the DVLA too, make sure its not out of a stolen car. (Unless its dirt cheap! lol)
That black Escort is possibly the best car on the forum... Massive shame about your Skyline/Pulsar phase. At least its out your system! ;)
Welcome to the club.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
There are no BIN's, but for you there will be.
I'm off out the door now, i'll get my mate to do it from his fancy phone with the tinternet on it. Theses younguns got it made I tell thee.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Jord, i've put a load of cheapies on ebay. The listings are going to start at 8pm.
I'll pm you the link. Some even have MOT's! ;)
Ah ok. So theres no chance of me damaging the unthreaded part of the shock?? ie Squeezing it too much?
Although I'd have thought Theres not much chance of that if i'm careful I suppose.
Sorry to spam Chris...... LOL!
Jord, is there any way to hold them on a milling machine?? I used to do that for a living so should be easy. I'd be too worried about damaging them though.
Modify?? In what way?
I've got FK's on the 172 and i'm really impressed on the road so far. (Not on track until december so will make my final decision then)
I too wanted KW's but tbh, for the 4/5 track days I do a year it probably isn't worth the extra dollars.
What a load of crap! Just a lot of Halfords/Ripspeed gubbins.
^^That blue one is lovely, as is GaryG on here.
Those iare comical though! Not seen s**t like that since I went to ''Cruises'' back in the late nineties!
