mileage is the key to power out of those engines, 80,000mile car will always be quicker than a 10,000mile car (same goes for all other renaults too!)
find out whats damaged, ask to see the parts if needed, DON'T be fobbed off
i've seen LOADS of outer gaitors "pop" off
i find it hard to figure out WHY/WHAT is damaged, the drivers side one is the weaker one IMO

easier if you remove both front wheels
pop out arch liners (use long nose pliers to lever the bungs out)
remove two plastic screws holding grille onto slam pannel
you'll find 2 x 10mm bolts under each arch (behind where the bumper/wing meet)
remove them
there's another 2 x 10mm...
