v2.0 firmware definitely requires sever bug fixes, they obviously ran out of time for full quality control. Having said that it was just as unstable when Jailbroken which is why I never kept my phone like that.

Several times. Usually reboots when it does freeze and always whn using apps. Not done it quite so often the last two days. I'm currently restoring my v2.0 iPhone to the latest firmware revision and opting not to restore a old backup on to the phone. I find things run better when it is not...

Have you checked your outgoing mail smtp settings? Sounds like you're possibly trying to send via your home ISP connection?

Tested the iPhone 3G with my Alpine headunit and it works perfectly including charging.

Very easy to get used to a Mac and so much better to use than any of the Windows machines I used to own.

I've never had any issue conencting to the internet with my iMac and it found the connection immediately.

Mac's have wifi so you'll not have any problems.

I think I'll pay the £59 at the end of my trial because I like getting my email as it is sent to me and not having to wait for it. The fetch system is also often unreliable and would not check for new emails for several hours or until prompted, push email should be better.

They have already said there are several functionality aspects of the iPhone that they will be addressing, with luck this is one of them although it's not a major problem for me.

With any luck they'll alter this in a future firmware upgrade.

I think I'll be exchanging my iPhone tomorrow as the iPod playback tends to crackle and click quite often through both headphones and the loudspeaker.

They may be posting an updated version which requires approval. Perhaps they pulled the original version from iTunes a bit early? I'm sure it will return. I like that you can search for a song or group and it'll list all stations currently playing those songs.

I sometimes get this happening on gmail and it seems to be a temporary connection problem between the iPhone and gmail's own servers. It usually corrects itself.

The old charger worked on my iPhone 3G too.

From my 4th charge onwards it does appear to have improved. 4.5 hours usage yesterday before it died which was identical to my 1st gen iPhone.

If you are texting and find you have no signal then hit the home button and when you return to the SMS app screen it will be as you left it. Hit send, job done.

Re: iphone appstore must haves? I've installed the Dark Knight app which appeared today but it doesn't do anything. It's titled Hahaha EDIT: Got it working now. You have to drag each shape out with two fingers on the screen.

By this time yesterday my phone was at half battery, it makes no sense. I did use the supplied charger last night rather than using the one I had from my original iPhone but I'm sure they are identical.

My iPhone battery life is doing great today, 1.5 hours usage and the battery indicator remains at full strength :)

I have no problems with texting on the iPhone, it's very easy and works well.

Buy a iPhone. Apple stores have stock. :)

Re: iphone appstore must haves? I can't get it to connect to my work PC. It reaches the 'VNC Negotiation' stage and then never fully connects. The icon on my work PC changes to show a incoming connection but I then get a 'Host has closed connection' message after a minute or two.
