The phonebook appears to be laggy when using Push services on the new iPhone. I may cancel Push for them and use it only for Cal and email.

No it's meant to do a full reset. Simply switching it on and off retains some recent settings.

I solved the push problems. The restore file email accounts were not functioning properly, deleting them and entering the settings fresh worked and now all contacts etc are pushing as they should do.

MobileMe is not pushing Contacts or Cal entries to me iPhone. I think it's possibly fucked for now and will hopefully work soon. Activations for new customers could take upto 72 hours due to them being entered manually.

If you are a new customer then Apple retail stores are selling the white handsets, I had a look at one in Glasgow today.

Install the latest iTunes version which was released yesterday and then connect your iPhone to your computer. Launch iTunes and it'll take you through the setup steps.

It's not activated yet and needs synced to iTunes to finalise.

Press the button on the front and follow the oncsreen instructions. Slide your finger across the screen where it instructs you to.

That's always there until you 'slide to unlock'. The iPhone does not need to be fully charged.

Did you not sync the iPhone with iTunes recently? If so you would normally get the option to restore a backup when the update was complete.

Did you upgrade iTunes to v7.7 before running the v2.0 firmware install?

Yeah exactly the same as buying from o2. All contracts are directly from o2 now, none of that CPW s**t.

Go into iTunes and connect your iPhone, hold Shift (for PC) or Option (for Mac) as you click check for update. Then just select the file and off you go.
