Looks good! What would we get for £7 a month? We just want a main switchboard thing (so that when people call they can press 1 for reception, 2 for office, 3 for course status), plus voice mail and diverting to mobiles broadband goes down.
Thanks everyone.
Longy that explains a lot, i didn't know they could be forwarded to mobiles if it went down, that's great. I can sort out the QoS on our D-Link Business Router so that won't be a problem. Having a switch with all the phones on won't really work as they are all in different...
Hi all,
Today we are getting new business broadband install, yey! We're going from our pitiful 2.5/0.3mb connection to 20/2mb, which is desperately needed.
I now want to explore the options of installing a VoIP system myself, I'm a quick learner with this kind of stuff so I'm hoping if I get...
Since the 4.2.2 update I have absolutely no qualms with the speaker. In 4.2.0 it was pitifully quiet but they've ramped up the amplification and I'm now a happy bunny, otherwise I was considering the speaker mod.
This really is the best phone in existence!
Check your router firmware. The Sagems were plagued with wifi problems u til the last firmware update (a while back now). It's not actually a bad router (lack of functions but it is only a home router), and does what it says on the tin.
You won't get the 4.4.x update for months mate, just the way it is with HTCs, Samsungs, etc. The only way to get these updates this quickly is with Nexus devices.
I went straight from 4.4 to 4.4.2 and I'm happy so far, seen the following improvements:
- Whatsapp now works with ART with no mod needed (yey!)
- snappy camera (so glad they fixed the shutter lag)
- louder volume from speaker
Haven't really had much chance to see what battery life is like...
ART really is just so good. For people who have been on the brink of changing to Android but could never quite do it, this could be the thing that tips you over the edge.
^ Above is correct. By rooting the phone everything is still exactly the same except you can now access the root file system of the phone. If you stay stock (I am rooted but stock) everything will be the same.
Same happened to me, so I used Wugz's toolkit to do quickly root, then flashed libart.so_flashable.zip and voila, all latest versions of whatsapp work. Well worth doing IMO. For those who don't rooting doesn't change anything on your device, it just means you can access the root of the phone...
It's the new virtual environment in which Android can run. Basically it's a lot quicker, smoother etc. Noticeably different even on the nexus 5 which is already lightning fast!
There are a couple of apps that don't play nicely but WhatsApp was the only one I found and there's a fix for it...
How did you set it up? Did you use Outlook app or the normal email manager? I used the normal email manager and it works fine, all emails that are unread and read on outlook.com are identical on my phone.
I've just switched over, gotta say that it's impressive.
I thought the Nexus 5 was pretty much as fast as Android could get, but now I've switched from Dalvik to ART it's super-duper-ridiculous quick. Battery life is meant to be about 10-15% better too but haven't had chance to test that yet...
I tried to find the thread Tom (I think?) created about the Chromecast Dongle.
I'm really tempted with one of these, but want to know if it will work with my Denon AVR1912 AV Receiver, I'm guessing it will as it's just producing a video and audio signal like any other HDMI source so it should...
If it's been well looked after there's every chance it quite happily never go wrong. I sold my old one you to my mate a couple of years back and it was 3 years old, hasn't missed a beat.
Nothing wrong with second hand, especially off Av forums where those guys know how to look after stuff.
Went out last night for a bit and took a couple of photos of the clear sky. First time I've done it so quite pleased with these (although I wish I'd researched the sky a little bit more so I know what I was looking at), I'd love to do a proper star trail sometime.
First one taken with 55-250 IS...
I know FLOL what was I thinking?!?!

Good effort Danny, I would like a set up like that myself in my next house.
The centre speaker would ideally want to be below the screen but in your case that wouldn't be appropriate as there's nowhere to place it on.
