I only had a brief go on the S5 a month or so ago but I could instantly feel it wasn't as snappy as my N5. I agree there are ways round it but the N5 is the first phone I have never modified or felt the need to.m pure Android is just awesome. Admittedly I really like Sense too, so if I wasn't...
It slows the phone down so much. Vanilla android is like iOS with its speed but touchwiz hogs resources and causes small but noticeable amounts of lag in everything. Vowed never to have a Samsung again unless they get rid! At least HTC's doesn't slow the phone down, Samsung need to take note.
Samsung phones just do my head in because Touchwiz is so f***ing sh*t. Wouldn't have anything other than vanilla android now, the difference is ridiculous. I used an S4 the other day and it wasn't anywhere near as smooth or responsive as my Nexus 5.
I must be one of the few people who does care about storage. Although I have everything backup up to the cloud it does frustrate me a little because 32GB is nowhere near enough for all my music, and since I do most of my driving in a non-3G area I have to play whatever is on my phone, which is...
Gally it's well worth trying pure Android with the Nexus (or whatever) series, without any skin overlayed on top it's as good of an Android experience as you'll get!
If history is anything to go by, look at being announced 31st October and available within a day or two.
This will be WELL worth the wait I would imagine, the main things I am looking for is a slightly bigger screen (5.2-5.5"), better battery and camera. 1440p screen would be awesome but not...
Not trolling here, it's genuinely good to see that Apple have finally stopped floggin the dead horse that is their own aspect ratio, and have got on board with 16:9. 6+ looks a decent phone.
That simply can't be right about the resolution. With the amount of android phones with 4.7-5.2" screens that have 1080p screens now, Apple would have to have gone crazy to only put a screen with that many pixels in.
Cool man! I like it when people think a bit outside the box rather than just following suit.
I've recently been looking at the OnePlus One and it looks a fantastic phone but I'm gonna hold out for the Nexus 6 (or whatever it might be called) announcement.
Weird one this. If you' already think you'll go back to iphone the chances are you probably will in which case it's probably a waste of time or energy. However, if you think that the prospect of owning an Android phone means that you will stick with Android then changing now to something like a...
f**k me Danny you've swapped between phones more times than I've had hot dinners.
I had a play with my brother-in-law's LG G3 yesterday, it's a mighty fine phone but I still think it's a touch less smooth than my Nexus 5 (hardly noticeable at all, but I look for it), probably because it isn't...
That's useful then.
To be fair it'd be pointless me getting a smart TV as I have my chromecast plugged into my AVR so everything comes through my sound system. It's cool that smart tvs are actually smart now!
Gally if you had a go on a Nexus 5 that is running on ART (Android's new runtime, it will be if up to date) then I have no doubt you will be impressed. Moving from iOS takes some more time than others to get used to it but you will :-)
What was she not impressed about? The One is an absolutely fantastic phone, even now 18 months after release.
The Nexus 6/5.2/whatever is likely to be top of the pile when it comes out, I'd definitely wait for that.
I'd wait for the Nexus 6 (or whatever it may be called) or go with a One M8. I use my mum and dad's iPhones a lot (cos they're tards and always ask me to do stuff) and I just find them infuriating! It's the little things like the app drawer and in-app settings in Android that just make it...
Couldn't agree more, I had a play with an S5 the other day and it just felt nowhere near as snappy as my N5. Can't wait for the Android Silver/Nexus 5.2/Nexus 6 to be announced, although I can't see it improving much on the N5 so might just stick with this!
