I'd not currently compare any of the Nokia phones with a iPhone, they are completely different to use. The iPhone is better (IMO).

The N96 hasn't evolved much at all. Not very impressed with the so called new handsets, same boring OS. The new SE is a better option.

The X1 looks nice.

I'd choose between a Topfield or a Humax. They are the best options.

The laptop support the wireless type been broadcast by your router? Type 802.11b or 802.11g? Older laptop's may not support 802.11g so ensure the router is broadcasting both. EDIT: Jusr re-read your post and see that it does connect without any security.

Thanks for the link, I'll add some more feeds onto my radio :) Thankfully you can customise favourites etc on the reciva website and it updates these automatically to the radio.

I found myself listening to odd things like JFK final approach and ground control. That's one busy airport. Search for police or scanner and you'll get several results. The live streaming of last saturday's Radio 2 Russell Brand show which worked perfectly too.

You can have a listen online first to see if you will find it useful. It is able to stream the on demand items from radio stations too which is handy. I bought the Logik IR100 from Currys, currently reduced to £44.99 Obviously you'll need wifi at home to use it. Test out what is on offer...

Pretty much a waste of time now. I recently bought a Internet Radio and you can listen to lots of American police radio using that.

The US Apple store is down but the UK is still online so maybe the announcement is not for the UK. Could be true though as it is now listed on Apple UK as iPhone 8gb, I think previously the main listing only said iPhone.

If the predicted price of £329 is correct then I think plenty of people will continue to buy the 8gb model.
