I currently have Reseller Hosting with Clook UK costing me £21.14 per month but I have noticed several providers now have VPS packages available for only £17.99 per month. The VPS packages are able to offer more storage space and higher bandwidth for less money.
I'm considering making the move...
Strangely my speeds have only dropped since I downgraded from the VIP package last week, prior to this the speed was excellent. I'm still on the 20mb connection so I don't know why it's slower now.
I tried downloading a file from VM demos and achieved a rate of 1696 kb/s.
1.18MB/s - 1.8MB/s newsgroup download speed.
My Speedtest results for tonight were
I currently pay £21.14 p/month for 2.5gb reseller hosting. This space is mainly used to host 3 different sites complete with forums for each. Would I benefit at all from VPS hosting and would this allow me to have multiple accounts and domains with seperate control panels in the same way as I...
I was getting far faster speeds than those with Newshosting when I was with them. I'll test my Giganews account tonight and post my results here. Hopefully faster than last night.
This was when I first started using it last night and long before I'd reached the 3gb limit.
I usually use 8 threads within Newsleecher and get downloads fairly quickly.
Yes I'm on VM 20mb. 327 KB/sec using that link Guy. 920 KB/s on the newsgroups right now but it's usually over double that speed.
EDIT:
The speed is fluctuating significantly today, the newsgroup download has now reached 2mb/s

I've just checked my mum's account for her and rather than discounting her tariff by £10 this month they've added it onto her bill :D I reckon she best phone and shout at them tomorrow. Useless b******s.
Are the reviews indepth or simply the product catalogue of all the nice gadgets collected into one mag? I think I'll subscribe to Stuff, I'll buy this months issue and see what I think of it.
Which of those two magazines is worth subscribing to? I fancy getting a mag delivered every month and it may as well be about gadgets. Not having read them often I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone knows more about them than me :) More to the point are either of them worth buying?
