Re: mobiles and s**te battery life these days
My brothers k800i doesn't usually last more than a day, sometimes not even that long. He's not a heavy phone user so maybe newer SE phones do have battery issues.
My new Nokia N73 has a far better battery life than the k800i it replaced. The k800i would last for 1-2 days max with everyday use, the N73 is currently 3 days since last charge and has only just dropped one power bar from full.
That's handy, I'll upgrade to that version now.
I use XP on my Mac for Newsgroup downloads as XP has better reader software available for it.
EDIT
All installed and working well. Thanks for the link.
Speak of the devil...... I received this in my Inbox :D
"carry on and you will get banned, i love my ps3's"
Thanks Shaun ;) You keep on enjoying all 3 of them.
I've used Mobile Fun several times without problem. My N73 was bought from them 2 weeks ago on a Fri afternoon and arrived as promised the next morning.
I'm probably going to buy a Sony camcorder next month, I've always been impressed with the recording quality of them in comparison to other makes I've tried.
Anyone else receive this email from Sony?
I doubt I'll buy a PS3 but on the off chance that I change my mind later next year I decided to reserve my ID.
It still does not accurately display the corners, they appear as a simplified version of the real thing. A tight corner appears tight on TT, same as what you are driving on and looking at, it does not appear this way on a Garmin.
I'm not saying it's not quick at updating, only the level of road detail is less than the TT maps. Tight corners can look anything but tight on the Garmin display whereas the TT is much more a real representation of the road ahead. The Garmin has a more simplified 3d display.
I've found turning it upside down and rolling the scroll ball around on a sheet of clean paper for a minute always manages to get the scroll working like new.
I think the TT comes preloaded with a speed cam database but to update this you will require a subscription. I think the cost of this is only £20 from TT.
It's excellent for times like that, the Garmin failed miserably in a similar situation as it was so vague.
I'd never have made my 40 mile journey within 30-35 minutes over twisty backroads I didn't know near Penrith without it.
I've owned TomTom units and Garmin and of the two I prefer the TomTom. The 3d mapping display has a more accurate look to it and if you ever go for a blast down a unknown back road in your car then the TomTom gives you a clear indication of exactly what sort of corner to expect, the Garmin does...
If you like gadgets then that is a good price for what you are getting. Be sure the PDA comes with a full UK warranty.
Totalpda are selling that same package for £100 more.
