Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
I've only paid a £100 deposit so far but I have the paperwork from the dealer which states the car is not an import.
Is there anything different in the spec I should be aware of?
I only found out when I decided to research the car with Renault UK and they...
The 172 I'm due to collect this Saturday has been identified by Renault UK as a Netherlands import. The dealership have sold me this car as a UK model with no mention of the cars real origins. Any advice on what to do next?
Thanks
Wow Darren that's a bit steep considering your age. I'm 30, 8 points on my license (5 of which under 3 years) and live in a not so good area and I'm paying £650 fully comp on a 172.
Yeah that's exactly why I like to use Confused. Maybe I should phone some other companies if prices are coming in lower than Confused quote.
The AA seem to be consistently providing me with the cheapest quotes via confused.
Best get a quote elsewhere. I usually get some good figures from confused.com
I've found in the past that some insurance companies can come in with silly renewal quotes for no apparent reason other than they obviously no longer want my business, even if i've never claimed from them.
The 172 I've bought has a hellish chip on the windscreen. The garage will have it repaired or replaced for me collecting the car. I can guarantee they repair it rather than replace. I'll be interested to see how good a job they do.
I'm considering buying a ITG panel filter for my 172 but on reading this thread many people have stated that it made no difference at all to their car. Is it worth buying or not? If so where from?
Thanks :)
Hopefully I'll be able to collect it on Saturday afternoon. I have a private plate which I plan on retaining, the garage have said I can complete the paperwork on saturday for the plate retention and they will take care of that after we've exchanged cars. Can't wait :)
Hi all :)
Garf I'm from Glasgow.
The c2 is not good with petrol at all, my saxo vts was far better and that even included when it was getting revved hard. The vts was very nice after 4.5k revs whereas the 172 seems to have plenty of low down power available which then turns insane come 5k revs :)
Hi all :) Yesterday I traded in my c2 vtr for a secondhand 172 which I collect next week. Test drive was brillaint and the car felt slightly quicker than the previous quickest car I've owned, a Saxo VTS.
Some pics of my 172, kinda crap cause from my phone.
The sticker on the bonnet will be...
