Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import I didn't notice during the test drive if the car had a trip computer or not. The digital display showed the mileage of the car but I don't know if it was capable of displaying anything else.

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import According to Edde's thread the belts do not need replaced until the 72k service. Macca I'm sure the car will be fine, apparently the 172 mentioned earlier in this thread for £7500 is a mess. A friend has just viewed it. The dealer is just off of the phone...

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import I can confirm it has an alarm but I'll need to check for myself on Saturday for locking wheelnuts and window etching. I'll ask on the phone today if the service was to 36k spec or not.

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import Reg Vardy in Edinburgh. I notice Linwood Motors in Glasgow have a silver 172 02 plate for sale £6500 32k miles.

The points count towards a maximum of 12 on your license for 3 years and then remain there for 1 more year but do not count towards this total. I've just passed the 3 year timeframe for my 3 speeding points and I've noticed that insurance quotations have dropped greatly already.

I hadn't even noticed this on the test drive last week but now you've mentioned it I'll no doubt be listening out for it on Saturday :(

I also bought Evo for the reason that it's great to read good comments about a car you own. I used to get alot of that with my old Saxo VTS but the C2 VTR never did seem to generate good press :D

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import I found out when I phoned Renault UK to check on the history of the car. They could only find details of it from the chassis number and not from the car reg. Phone 08000 723 372 and speak to customer services.

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import Now you mention it that description does sound incredibly familiar......forget the moulded A pillar comment, I was obviously thinking of a different car :o The car will be serviced and MOT'd for collection on Saturday

I seem to have the same problem whenever I choose to sell a car :D

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import I'll be happy with it import or not and the price is incredibly good considering the car is in such great condition. I was annoyed that the dealer was unaware of the cars status more than anything else.

Thanks for the answer JayJo. It had seemed to work very well during the test drive so I was surprised to have read those comments in Evo.

Is the climate control as weak in the Clio as Evo have stated in the article or does it work well?

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import By starting this thread I'm not saying the imports are inferior Ally, only that it would have been nice of the garage to tell me this rather than showing me paperwork which stated otherwise. I'm still planning on buying the car.

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import The car indicators flashed when locking the car using the original plip key and there was no other fob to use so I assume this had armed the alarm and not merely locked the car?

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import I get the feeling that they'll not offer to reduce the price of the car even if it is proved to be a import. £6350 is probably fair for it anyway as this was well under the book price and other cars I'd viewed. Thanks blink :)

Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import The car is at full UK spec and has a factory fitted Cat 1 alarm and not an aftermarket install. I'll check if it comes with locking wheelnuts but I'm sure they'll throw those in for free if I ask for them. I don't think I'll be cancelling the sale and the...
