I've had the car nearly four years and racked up nearly 40000 miles.
This is the longest I've owned a car so never really had to consider the suspension lol
I know a back spring had an advisory for corrosion on last mot so I'm plAnning on replacing both back ones. Unfortunately money is an...
After a knocking noise I replaced top mount bearings and realised my suspension struts are both blown on the front, planning to replace them asap, how can I tell if the coil springs need replacing?
Is it as simple as checking for corrosion or damage?
When I did the mount bearings I noticed one...
Right car is still knocking when turning! It's in the drivers side, replaced the drive shaft, replaced top mount bearing, but today it's still knocking occasionally. What else could cause this?
The suspension struts are both shot so looking to replace those as soon as o can afford to, would...
Replaced the top mount bearings on my suspension. Drivers side was easy but passenger side is proving more difficult. We took it apart and put it back together but it won't fit back in the car. There seems less thread poking out the top too.
Do we just need to tighten it more?
Actually we have. My partner went into the back of someone the day we got the car and I skidded on some ice and bumped another car a year and half ago now. No damage both times as such low speed thankfully.
But saying that the garage that mot it last August should have wiped it after I replaced...
I intend on borrowing a multimeter and going through all the electrics, it's odd because my original air bag light issue was just bottles moving the under seat wires, the light literally came on as the bottles rolled out and went out when they rolled back under haha. I would have assumed you had...
Have you just replaced a drive shaft?
I had the abs and stop light after replacing a drive shaft and buying the wrong one.
I bought one with a 26abs ring instead of 44 abs ring.
Apparently broken abs ring or sensors can cause the same problem.
It's never ending, believe me!
Watched a quick video on checking/ changing the top mount so I know what to look for now, later when my partner is home he can turn the wheel and I'll check the spring for sideways movement and clunking.
Would that affect the steering too?
Sometimes it seems to pull a little and steering wheel...
That's what I thought, unfortunately I don't know anyone with one.
I believe it's electrical as the replaced pre tensioner should have fixed it last year but the garage didn't comment when I asked why the light was still on and the fact it's a 2 door and I have a child so constant seat movement...
Brill thanks.
Just had a quick look, the rubber joins on the roll bars both look split.
Would I be able to check the top mounts myself easily?
The Haynes manual isn't being much help!
1.2 16v
The clip on my air con pipe has broken, is there a way to just replace the clip or will I have to source a new pipe?
Attached a picture, hopefully it's worked!
My airbag light is on, with the service light, it has been for a few years now and mot due in August so really need to think about getting it fixed.
2 years ago we had the lights flick on and off in time with bottles rolling out from under the passenger seat, got rid of the connectors and...
Might seem a bit obvious but have you tried a new battery? Mine was off the road for a week for a new clutch, when it was all back together I couldn't start it,
Electrics still seemed to work fine but no start up only clicking.
After quite a while trying to start it the battery level dropped low...
Hi everyone I have 1.2 16v campus,
Had driver-side drive shaft replaced last month after having it replaced the month before with the wrong size.
But it's still knocking!
When my original drive shaft started knocking it was a distinctive deep clunk or knock when on full lock.
Now this new...
Having problems with my partners focus, tried posting on a Ford forum but with no luck or replys.
We have a leak of what I think is brake fluid, from a pipe at the back of the engine, I'll attach a brightened picture. I don't know what the bottom pipe is supposed to be for or if it's supposed to...
I think I am going to have to replace the one I have fitted anyway, it's started clunking on full lock today.
I'll try ring them again later to check compatibility so fingers crossed.
Thanks for everyone's help
And watch out for my future thread on struggling to change a drive shaft! ;)
Sorry my bad clicked left I stead of right,
This is the one I bought and that is currently on the car

OMG! Yes I could have done with that link a week ago!
The only reason I went through euros was the fact that I could take it back if it was the wrong size.
Ebay says it's not compatible with my car tho and there are no measurements on the description
Had the same headache last year replacing the...
It's an 06 1.2 16v Clio campus.
Yes drivers side,
This is the one I bought

And this is the one I should have got (I...
Thanks, I've saved it for when I have money to buy it.
I've looked up the drive shaft and the one I need and the length, seal and wheel side measurements are very slightly different sizes, is this going to cause problem/damage in the long run if I do keep the drive shaft and just replace the ring?
Right had a look under the car, def an abs ring on each side. No clue what I thought I was looking at before!
Anyway new drive shaft has 26 abs teeth instead of 44 so I've fucked up and bought the wrong one.
So is it possible to get a ring and put a new one on or do I need a new drive shaft.
I...
As far as I'm aware the drive shaft came with the abs ring.
I still have the old drive shaft so I'll count them and see if it's right.
Drove it tonight briefly after fitting a coil pack and the speedometer wasn't registering at all.
Hoping to get this sorted without spending £££
What exactly do you mean seated properly?
As in the sensor gap?
Not delt with anything abs related yet so trying to get my head round it all. I think I now have a basic understanding of it.
Didn't get a chance to look at it today so hopefully tomorrow I'll get home before the light goes...
Is the abs ring the one on the driver side drive shaft? Because that drive shaft only replaced a couple of days ago.
When the ignition is on it has no lights, when I start driving it comes on usually within a mile.
Had engine changed, I'm the middle if sorting out a misfire but my main problem now is the speedo seems to be running between 5 and 10mph to slow and abs light is on (and stop and handbrake light and maybe service light too) and I tested the abs on some gravel today and it's definitely not...
