Suspension, cant get it to fit back in the car after putting it back together.

Replaced the top mount bearings on my suspension. Drivers side was easy but passenger side is proving more difficult. We took it apart and put it back together but it won't fit back in the car. There seems less thread poking out the top too.
Do we just need to tighten it more?

Never mind, the car was only jacked up on one side, leveling it worked doh lol

Right car is still knocking when turning! It's in the drivers side, replaced the drive shaft, replaced top mount bearing, but today it's still knocking occasionally. What else could cause this?
The suspension struts are both shot so looking to replace those as soon as o can afford to, would that cause cluncking?
Also when accelerating it has knocked a couple of times too.
