So went to change the coil pack and snapped the last cm of the end of one of them clean off and then it slowmo slipped back down to the spark plug chamber.
Changed the injector that the code was reading for and it seems to have sorted the problem (Yay)
Now how can I get the plastic out from...
Cool thanks I'll check that
Did a code reading and got faults with the second cyclender misfiring so going to go take coil pack and injectors from the old engine and see if that fixes the problem
My 1.2 16v Clio is idling really rough and chugging after an engine swap.
It was purring away yesterday and running fine but this morning it's misfiring. Thought it might be coil pack but there is no egg smell apart from a burst of eggy white smoke this morning after 5 mins of driving but since...
So engine swapped and yesterday was running lovely. however this morning it's struggling to idle and struggling struggling for power when driven. Seems to be a distinctive popping/chugging sound on idle some of the time. After about 20 mins of driving it seems to level out and run normally.

So sourced an engine, somewhere to do the work and a mechanic friend to help me, he recons day and half maximum so fingers crossed all go now.
That's what I said to my partner, waste of time, may aswell just buy another more powerful car or do it properly but money money money and he's not...
Planning on doing a straight swap although my partners getting all excited at the prospect of a 2l in it instead! I'm not so fussed, just want a working car.
Hoping I can rent a hoist from a friend and do it myself, although it's been a while since I've done anything that big.
Might get the...

Found some low mileage engines...
So turns out the problem is the fact that the alternator nut is missing and the the tension nut was loose. both belts need replacing, but that can wait till the weekend now.
OK so it does have two auxiliary belts, there is one that's cracked and needs replacing and the other is hanging off, just getting the wheel off to inspect from under the car
Thanks James, I suspected this was the case but I've not had a good look round my engine yet so couldn't dismiss what he was saying in case he was right lol
Water pump got done last week as it's on the timing belt.
Great I'll order new tensioners too.
Here's my other post, goes into more detail
So just had my timing belt replaced, didn't think to check and get the drive belt replaced. 1 week later the squealing starts. so hoping to change it tonight, how do I know which belt is the correct one?? I've ordered the only one with ac and power...
Haha Chloe is my Clio's name!! I made another post about the drive belts, in a nutshell, the drive belt is slipping, FIL says there are two belts, I've ordered one :/ just want to know how many belts and how can I tell if I've got the right one.
