Was considering ripping the head of but haven't got round to it yet, but yeah, like you said, probably down to who ever done the work. Here's a photo of one of the valves
Well dephaser was brand new as was water pump. I was recommend not to re use the dephaser pulley as it was never certain what caused the issue of the old engine blowing up. Is this just nonsense? Can that pulley even cause any damage? I think it was because of the timing being out
Right, so I'll probably get a lot of stick for this... Ahah! I'm breaking my old engine to cover some of the costs of that engine swop. Can the water pump and dephaser be reused?
Not this again... It wasn't a mate, family friend who owns a garage that use to race these. I was just curious as I went on Renault websites typed my reg in and said 'cambelt change from £200' it just made me think if I should of used them. It's not that I didn't have the money, I was just being...
How much do Renault charge for 182 cam change? Website says from £200. How much are parts etc? Can you buy parts and give them then to make cheaper (probably not).
Just had my belts change but wishing I went to Renault as you get 1 year guarantee so I presume if anything breaks with it they fix...
How may were made? How many are left? Did find a thread which said it's the most common colour.. I have only ever seen 2 others in all my while of driving though, ahah. To be honest i rarely see any clio sport around, if i do it's black or silver i see.
Phew! At the moment it's sounding like a tractor... Smokes gone though :D ran it for 20 minutes this morning. My brakes have seized I think though, cars on a hill with no handbrake and doesn't roll anywhere
Had a new engine fitted. Now they is steam from the back of the engine. I think it's coming from the exhaust man but my friend said it could be that the engine was on it's side and it's burning oil. I can smell burning. This is just on idle, I am yet to even test drive the car as the gearbox oil...
Fired right up. But bit of smoke out the engine bay but think it might be that the engine was on its side so possibly burning oil. Got few more parts to buy and all the fluids and should be good to go.
Thing is those ones are that nice it be a shame not to have them both. I'd keep the old seats just incase I ever sold the car.. No way would I let them go!!
Guy I know use to race them and still owns one so let him do it.. I have money saved for the next car so I just decided to cut into that as like was suggested so the car isn't worth £0 best to get it done. Since when was it 2 hours...
Hopefully it will. Having trouble with the gear linkage now, but after that it's ready, running out of light. Bit of play in gear? What could that be anyone? it turns over but no fire yet, calling it a night tonight
I've since found out I can use works car as spare so I'm not in a major rush, I just don't want to hit that fund. I have enough drive space so it can stay. Luckily the Skyline is in sorta in the family so repairs will be cheaper  labour wise of course. Parts well...
Guess you're right... Probably gonna let it sit on the drive for a month. I don't want to break into that fund if I'm honest. If I can use works car it won't matter
Yeah, considering selling. I spent £1500 on the thing, another £600 getting a new engine and help fitting £450 before that to find out the problem. Obviously I didn't expect the engine to blow up as the timing was done etc hence why I thought it was a snatch. Ah well, what's done is done. If not...
Yeah, as retarded as it seems I'm leaving the old timing belt on... I don't have the funds for a new kit then have somebody do it right. I've already spent a K or more doing all this. I never expected this to happen.
This car is a nightmare... The belt looks pretty worn and I'd say due for a change. I simply haven't got the funds to pay for a new belt so unfortunately I'm taking the risk that it will last a little longer. I have no timing tools so will have to be sent off regardless. If I had another car I'd...
