I've been stung too many times by people on here and in breakers, and so have a lot of people I know. Proper proof or leave it.... you might get lucky and get a good one but 75% of the time they are f*cked/mis sold.

Yeah 100% standard... Probably ARP rod bolts as i know someone selling an unused set, but apart from that a complete zero miler pretty much. It will give me more of a chance of being able to sell it on when I break the car.. Cheers, will do!

So....whats the best procedure for running in a freshly built F4R? Im talking fresh hone, new rings, new shells, etc. I know engines are different, as some that I've known of have been given varying revs for the first 30 mins, then relatively easy driving for the first few hundred miles and...

Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project Well I reckon so with it being both front and back, either way its going down the scrapper once its stripped. I have two spare blocks but both are f*cked after looking last night, one has a scored bore and the other has a couple of bent oil jets.... so back...

Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project Brought the engine (and lots of other bits) back home earlier so I can rip it apart.. ..oh, and the back of the block is cracked too. As you can see, there has been some leakage.. Excellent! :)

Depends on a lot of things really... what the limiter is set, what ratio the gear and diff are, etc.. Mines a 1.8 16v JB3 gearbox, 172 engine and a 7800rpm limiter. Did around 158mph GPS, miles off the clock as they are miles out anyway..

Dipstick min-to-max marker is only 1 litre anyway, so you could have had four litres in there which isnt so bad

Yeah, alternator tensioner failed on Robs, belt nearly came off. Managed to rig it up and retain tension with a cable tie to get it back home, lol.
