Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project Valver is shorter ratios... Using Matths clever tool you can see the difference :) A williams JC5 would be a bit better, similar to a 172 Ph1, but Its finding one....the valver one is ok for now :)

part prices change all the time... BRUN at renault runs the old system that you can get off ebay and the likes against their new parts system (web based to the dealerships) and quite alot of the prices are miles out :(

well there has only been like 3-4 people that have put 172 widetrack onto a williams (Me, whiteley and two others), so im not sure what they were on about lol...I saw that written though.. Colm....did that parcel get to you?!

yeah probably easier....things like the williams anti roll bar wont fit due to the steering rack (172 arb has a bend in it to accomodate)...but its not worth it due to loosing width :)

172 is wider track than williams from factory...it will fit but you will loose circa 10-15mm in width

I was hit from 30mph when I was stood still in my Mk2, boot floor was crumpled. They pulled it out no problem, I couldnt tell the difference...

cant be that hard... valver/williams top mount bolted to the chassis....use a 172 ph2 gearbox to keep the digital speed output for the dash, then the 172/182 gearbox mount.... mk2 dogbone mount, all the rest should fit...wiring shouldnt be too hard either really
