As Daniel said. In hindsight you should have checked all that before hand. The money you've 'saved' will buy you a tyre and pads.

I think yours was the only Clio i've seen that's had valve seat damage. Most of the time it's the valve itself.

Valve seats don't need doing unless there is something wrong with them.

I've not heard of any blowing up from mapping. I doubt yours was down to mapping, it was a valve seat wasn't it?

I'd wipe it out with an alcohol cleaner first and then primer, paint, lacquer. Leave it a day or two and then sand.

Dent man, then touch up the scratch, wet sand to blend and then DA to correct it.

Standard pads should be more than enough, unless they're glazed to f**k.

Have you adjusted the cables on the handbrake mechanism? Give the adjuster a few turns and it should tighten it up. New cables will stretch a bit.

Be worth it though.

Worth running an uprated pad in the rear too on the Octavia.
