What have you done to your car today ???

Changed the coil pack - one I bought didn't fit. Didn't do that job Changed the HT leads - ones I bought didn't fit, so didn't do that either. Changed the injectors - success!! Fitted an Evol dog bone mount - success!! Fitted a sun strip - couldn't get it right so removed it. In hindsight the...

What have you done to your car today ???

Three new tyres for the daily Clio currently being fitted. Spent more time and effort on that this month than the 172. I may have to buy something for the 172 to restore order!

    Sunstrip....which one?

really, I will try dig them out then

    Sunstrip....which one?

Need to get a sunstrip as I don't have sun visors anymore. What are people using? I would like a tinted one that goes on the inside, but would rather do that when I need to replace my windscreen. So was thinking this one, but not sure if it is like the old Cup racers, or plain stupid, would be...

    Disappointment at Brembo discs

Don't worry about it. I never have. My car is now also sat for weeks as it's not the daily and the discs go discoloured. Driving it a few miles solves this.

    Custom made exhausts, suggestions?

I paid £440 fitted and lifetime warrenty for a 2.25" system including a decat and centre silencer with choice of tip and noise (everything apart from the manifold, which they do make there if you really want). Utter bargain I thought. By the looks of it they will do anything you want. A proper...

    Disappointment at Brembo discs

If it rains heavy over night the rears on mine stick on when I get in it in the morning. Just drive it and it forces the brakes to free up, first tiem I did this I thought I hit something.

    Custom made exhausts, suggestions?

I know it could be a bit of a trek but I got mine done at Infinity Exhausts, just off junction 16 of M4 (near Swindon). They made it while I waited and was a bout three hours.

    Kit's Ph1 172

Not much has happened recently, I have been busy since Combe. But this has turned up: Hopefully this will help, and will put my arse into gear in getting the other bushes done. Will probably get a grage to do it as I do not have the patients to do all the bushes or really fair on my brother to...

What have you done to your car today ???

Serviced the daily Clio. Hope that will give it a new lease of life. Not seen the 172 in about 3 weeks, hope it starts first time tomorrow when I go to my dads. It won't as its French.

    Gloucester(shire) (old) spots

Trade n Save are the old Renault garage, opposite Tesco opposite the old cattle market. They did my cam belt change. They are Renault specialists and did a good job of mine. Or Renault? Do they have a workshop?

Fitting Braided Brake Lines, Fluid and Bleeding

If you can a few days before spay some WD40 onto the bleed nipples for a few days before hand to help free them up. I also second the Ezebleed, it took two minutes to do and got it spot on first time. Get about 3x 500ml of brake fluid, you might not need the third bottle but it is best to have...

    Phase 1 flame red

Black front end looks smart, even better against the red. I was going to to the same on mine, but went agaisnt it and just did the grill bit. Glad I didn't as I have seen a few Titaniums with it and it doesn't look right. Yours is spot on. Have you thought about gong black front lights? I also...

All Racing Blue 182's on the Forum...

And I am quoting now: "Doesn't look like a ph1 too me" 😂 RB is the only colour Ph2 I would have (ignoring the daily I have but that's not a sport!). When the Ph1 is "finished" I will be getting an RB daily.

    Better gear linkage set up

I am never sure what to use through the chicanes, 3rd feels too sluggish pulling out and 2nd is a bit too low/lots of revs going into them. But I will admit I am not going full on through them to push for third really. I probably should just attack them a bit more and have more confidence and...

    Better gear linkage set up

@imprezaworks I've got a Ph1 so I think @Ads29 is right? And no wonder I couldn't find it again as I wasn't searching for rear gear box mount!!

    Better gear linkage set up

Damn too slow!! Lol. Even when it's not for sale yet I am too slow! The PMS one does look nice too, and it is tempting me by that. But if there is an alternative I would be open to as well. Just didn't want to go the route of wasting money when it could be a simple fix. Hoping the dog bone...

    Better gear linkage set up

I had the black Ph1 saved in my eBay and it's now gone and can't find it anywhere. I can find the Ph2 but this is useless to me! Yeah the car is mainly track.....with the occasional drive to visit the girlfriend which is a 500mile round trip! It drives better on the motorway than the 1.4 Ph2...

    Better gear linkage set up

I knew knew I should have done it last week as the my are not £25 any more! And I can't find an option for the stiffer one, not fussed about the vibrations as its a track car. I will have to see f I can buy direct from here. Noooo, car is more important! Haha. Mine only knocks when pulling off...

    Misfiring/bogging down help

I've had recently a flashing EML that doesn't throw a fault code. Similar symptoms as your lumpy idle. Leave it running from cold it idles a bit dodgey then after 5mins the EML starts to flash. Turn car off and on it doesn't come back on but if driven before this happens it is fine. I am...

    Better gear linkage set up

You also having the exhaust knocking!! Well that is sorted then, swap for the Motorsport Evol dog bone mount to start with! And then going on what others have said do a few more up grades before splashing the cash. Just the advice I was hoping for!!! This will be next months jobs

    Keeping my exhaust shiny

The polish I used worked really well, it was more of a re-protecting it as surely over polishing something will take any protection off? Or is that metal polish Finish stuff the product I am after?

    Keeping my exhaust shiny

Exhaust was fitted about a month ago, proper bling and looks really nice. But a session at Combe turned it slightly brown from the excessive heat. Not a problem as I used some Autosol (I think that's it's name, looks like tooth paste in a black/gold tube) and it came up like new. But did two...

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

Isn't the plate removable? Looks like it is attached around the holes with like wire for quick removal. Also liking the decals. Makes me want to do mine as mine ideally needs a respray. But would rather spend the cash on performance! And decals/wrapping it is a lot cheaper!!
