It's the battery! The alarm will go off as soon as you connect the battery, don't worry about that. You then need to shut the bonnet as it has the alarm sensor which thinks the bonnet is open. When you've shut the bonnet, lock then unlock the car and it should be sorted.

Stick with NGK PFR6E-10 spark plugs and Elf Tranself NFJ 75w-80 gearbox oil. Any fully synth 5w-40 engine oil will be fine.

If there is enough sticking out but grips wont do it, you could try making a groove in the top and use a flat head screwdriver to unscrew it...

Sounds like a slider issue as you've said Have you got the shims in with the DS2500's or did you leave them out?
