The Ph1 Gearboxes may be going cheap but may have double the miles on them compared to a 172/182 gearbox as its a few years older :(
And maybe a harder life, you can't really tell when buying a gearbox its a bit of a amble how long it'll last unless its a refurb.
With the Ph1 172 coming down...
Probably not bud and i'm guessing the ball joint would have a bit of play in it if its worn mate ;)
And the top mount knocking is the Front suspension top caps catching on the suspension turret in the engine bay.
This can be resolved by fitting an appropriate sized washer onto the Shockers...
Hows about being boring.
And use Iceberg Silver.
Lol :rasp:
P.s Remember to use wet and dry paper on it before painting to remove any grease, oil etc ;)
How tough are the Gearboxes and clutches fitted to the 172/182FF's ?
And the 172/182 Cup models, i know there different speedo drive wise on the gearbox.
Is that all ?
I was wandering how much abuse they'd take as i went through 2 gearboxes(The diff x2) in my last car (2000 Polo Gti) which...
I was checking today to see if my standard oil pressure switch was leaking at all (and its fine) as i refitted in back to it original location on the engine block yesterday as my oil gauges are disconnected the now as my oil pressure sender has started leaking oil where it screws into the t...
I was wandering if anyone knew what size the threads are on the Sump Drain Plug on a 2002 172 ?

I have just had a scan of the following thread regarding smelly Ac http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=333866
In the 5th reply down it says.
"I bet you switch the engine off with the air con on. Change your pollen filter and when you stop switch off your air con first let the...
Good old Renault speaking b****cks as usual.
Lol :)
Go back in and say you've done research and that your car can be run on Normal premium unleaded and you want to know why the light keeps coming on. ;)
And if you get nowhere go in on a busy day and kick up s**t in the showroom preferably...
The washer jets on my Polo Gti that i pictured were hidden on the underneath of the bonnet.
So when you looked at the bonnet there was no washer jets. :)
So if you were to fit these to the clio you'd have to weld up and fill the standard washer jet holes and drill new ones on the inside of...
Where did you get your t piece and fittings Matt ?
As i aint to fussed about loosing my oil temp gauge if need be to reduce clutter a bit ;)
Was it Pirtek ?
And did you have to order any of the fittings ?
Or were they all off the shelf ?
Looks great mate.
Bet you was glad that the engine was out to do it ?
So much more space :)
My oil gauges are disconnected the now and my standard oil pressure switch is back in its place as my oil pressure sender has started leaking oil where it screws into the t piece :(

I take it you still have to pay you excess (£250 or what ever it is ?
When claiming for vandalism cover ?
If not,
I wander how many people have scratched there car to get it covered by Vandalism Cover
Lol
Good thread mate.
I wandered this when i got my car back from the Timing and Acc belt change.
As the tensioner nut was in a place tight for space.
Bet its a right fucker of a job ?
And does the bumper really have to come off ?
Or can it be done another way ?
I'm not meaning to be a c**k mate.
But why would you fill the car up with fresh engine oil and mix it with old stuff in the oil filter ?
And what colour is your new oil after running it for a while (1000miles or so) with the old oil filter ?
