I’m sure the standard F4R cams work better with the turbo, rather than the F4RT standard cams iirc...
isn’t it something with the n/a cams lift duration works well..? So basically a mild upgrade by keeping the n/a cams.
If I’m remembering correctly, it’s the same principles as the Vaux guys...
My daily DCi is about to tick over 130,000
Highest mileage car I’ve had - it’s running like a dream and seeing this thread reassured me evermore that it’ll just keep going, with a bit of maintenance and respect.
Hopefully I’ll be posting a 200k pic of it.
@MrBlonde might be worth sending that alternator off to be refurbished - always worth having spares.
I went to the Ring a couple of years ago and took a box of basic spares (alternator/plugs/leads/brake pads etc) always peace of mind on long trips.
It depends how much time/money you’ve invested in your 182. If your 182 needs work and the 172 is an upgrade, then it’s a good decision. If your 182 is well maintained and a good one, then you’d be mad IMO. There’s no real difference between any of them, as in actual driving feel.

Does it look fresh or old oil?
Just wipe the area down and check the area again after a...
I bought mine second hand off Facebook market place - no issues for me, and that was a private sale.
I’d imagine the refurbished ones off a company as fine also.
Edit: I think I only paid £110 privately
Obligatory photo on the A4069 while enjoying the sunshine.
I’ll have done over 700 miles this week in the DCI by tomorrow, and it’s just soaking it all up.
They’re a good car - suspension will sort out the handling, they’re a bit front end heavy, but they can still be driven really well!
Easy to make into a VXR spec engine really.
My mate had one on a standard engine and bolted an Owens Gt2860r on and a few VXR bits like injectors then a map. No...
Definitely sounds belt related - both belts too, as the water pump is on the timing belt and the power steering is on the aux belt.
Does the car still run/idle?
