tbh Insuring a 172 at 17 is a waste. You can go faster and have more fun for less.
I had my 172 at 17 only due to the fact we got its insurance thrown in with our company account.
I'd rather pay £600 to insure a westfield than £3k to insure a 172.
Well the diff went in my 106 after 13 days.
So i need another gearbox. Do i:
Buy a Rebuilt one for £275 with 6 months warrenty
Or risk it with one of ebay for about £100.
Running rich is myth.
A lean mix is slower burning. So when the exhaust valves open it is still ignited hense a pop or bang.
Mark leaning things out it a dangerous business. I'd rather be on the rich side of things than risk holed pistons etc
