A lot of people have not had headwork done and wished tehy had after. APparently to get the best from the cams you need to so may be worth thinking ifteh 450 quid saved now is better in the long run seeing as to do later would cost loads in labour.
Doing atthe same time as engine conversion...
I now get a little bit of free turn of the steering wheel before wheels turn.
Would this be steering column or something more like rod ends causing this play?
A lot of people have found that additives like Slick 50, Wynns, or Forte for Power Steering help reduce or even get rid of the noise from PAS pump.
I used Wynns last time as could not get the Slick 50. Forte stuff comes up on ebay quite often and tend to be teh best make to go for.
Also...
Had mine fitted for nearly 3 years now and they are great. Get them properly set up though. A renault specialist stuffe dmine up when fitting a strut brace so ended up getting them dialled in again at Northampton Motorsport.
PS you may find they force you to run too much negative camber so...
Mr Muscle Orange degreaser also works. As probably would most kitchen cleaners like the Fairy Powerspray Fred recommends.
As for Cillit bang I would be wary.....
I bet the kitchen cleaners are probably easier to get and cheaper than perhaps same substances labelled by Autoglym etc...
10w 40 is what is recommended. Think Haynes recommends Duckhams QXR and you can get that fitted for 20 quid including Filter at National Tyres. Oil is £20 quid alone from your local Motor store so saves getting dirty, cold and keeps your knuckles in one piece.
Have used Total Quartz 7000...
Its not just cars, other items get posted and then when you enquire replies stop coming, even when you are interested and have been exchanging emails they then suddenly dry up.
Some other sites have rules preventing sales negotiation outside of the forum to keep things fair.
Erm no but Haynes reckons QXR is good enough and the best you will get from a National garage is proabably Castrol RS or Mobil One.
For me in winter I'd prefer to use a 0w40 compared to Mobil 1 Motorsport in Summer due to the engine temps, for a Valver anyway. And would use Silkolene over...
Think he is getting at cams etc giving that kind of improvement with breathing mods of new manifold or exhaust but could be wrong.
On the flywheel debate, think I remember a lot of revieres of the Civic Type R attributing some of the performance improvements when all they actually did was...

Can now book in on line and get for sam eprice as they offer when using the special offer vocuchers they print in tabloids.
£20 for Duckhams QXR semi is the same price 5l will cost you in a shop so you get the filter and no hassle for free. Well worth it in...
Cambelt is due every 5 years or 72k miles, whichever is sooner. Although they can still fail earlier than that so if in doubt get it done. Usual renault specialists are the places to go and usually charge 137 quid plus VAT. If you join cliosport you should get a discount too. Water pump...
I've got MB Quarts in mine and think they are good. Brother got Some Diamond Audio Hex cheap off ebay. Just keep checking ebay. I have 6.5 inch in my front doors but wouldn't bother with the hassle and just fit 5.25 inch normal size.
And 70 quid cheaper although have to factor throttle body adaptor if for a Valver/Williams.
How come doesn't state car in profile like on old forum?????
Eagle F1 or Michelin PE2 seems to be the top 2 clio choices. Never tried the Michelin but as they seem to be close do not think the extra money they cost is worth it.
Mytyres do good rates on the F1s but that is in 195/50/15. Price difference in your size is probably less (195/45/16?)
I'd wait a few days and get one of the new i-mode o2 phones, exclusive to o2 in the UK. NEC Flatfish model is going to be the daddy, even thinner than a V3 but not out till early next year.
Think there will just be 4 phones at launch (Samsung and NEC) but all the others will be doing phones...
Depends what you want and what you like from a mobile.
Motorola V3 RAZR is one of the neatest but they look good and don't work as well as others. Nokia 8800 is the latest bling phone but not that good. Ericsson phones are always good no matter which one you go for.
IF 40 is the high temperature protection and the engine gets anywhere as hot as a valver or Williams engine I wouldnt put a 30 grade in.
And although asked not for searches, if you do search for any by author oilman you will strike oil so to speak.
Try simple things like HT leads, spark plugs, Dizzy and Rotor arm. Fuel Filter been changed? Perhaps run some fuel system cleaner through as it does sound like something changing any of the above could help. All are relatively cheap and should be part of routine maintenance anyway. All...
Well BB did my cambelt for 137 quid and doubt they take 5 hours otherwise it would have been more.
Have new cams and have been waiting for next cambelt change (doing 36k after 1st 72k change) to combine fitting cams and new cambelt/tensioners etc.
Think some oils dont mix well but youd be best doing a search of posts made by oilman to get the lowdown.
My view would be that it would be better to fill up with whatever oil you can get rather than run low, as I would have thought low level would cause more harm than 2 slightly different...
Its not all about bhp which is a peak power figure, its about the amount of torque that moves you. 2.0 will always be more and easier to drive becuase it kicks in lower down rev range.
When I bought my valver over 4 years ago I thought that the only difference is 13bhp and several insurance...
<SCRIPT language=javascript> Both are at the end of their life waiting for replacements and it does seem it comes down to brand new versus 2nd hand.
As there are good discounts to be had new, I would go for the Trophy as it does seem to be the best car of its type out there if you like...
20 quid would get you filter and Duckhams QXR semi fitted at National Tyres..... It is appealing unless you already have oil and prefer fully synthetic.
National Tyres 20 quid Duckhams QXR change always seems attractive. Only option is as stated above pierce filter with screwdrives and loosen. Need a good method to tighten new one though, proper tool, as you can fumble and locate the new one in thread and hand tighten but you will find it...
