Yep, very common. I had problems with corroded connectors in the plug and light fitting. (clio172) You can try to clean up the contacts/connectors to see if that helps. If it works, smear the lot in Vaseline ;), its a non conductor and will keep out the water

I've done a hard 70k ish in my 172 Cup, and 182, and never had a single gearbox issue. Mechanical sympathy is the key ;)

Cup is the car i'd have. More modern looking, lovely colour and turinis as standard. I wouldn't miss AC one bit.

You sure they are 5 cylinder? I thought they were FSI lumps were 4 pots?

Mine had full seb 2 setup, with front mount intercooler. I out dragged many CTR's and 172's back in the day :)

Love the snow foam, mate if mine did my 197 yesterday!!! Helps lube up the paint nicely :)

Mk5, is that the version before the current one? If so i easily dispatched many of these (150bhp iirc?) in my old Cup.

Mine was quicker straight line, been fettled though ;). Clio easily out handles them mind.

Do NOT gat a 182 rep. Prospeed recessed or Cup stylee would be my choice, i went for a 3.5" slash cut resessed in the end, but looking at Chris's above the cup racer rep looks MINT!!!! If not, stealth :)
