Want some warm deep sounding 6.5 inch

Ive got MB Quart QSD 218.61 6.5 components in the front. Can be done but the metal hole needs cutting bigger in the door to fit. Recommend the MB Quarts and if you look on ebay should be able to get a better model for your money. Range goes D,R,P then Q being top.

Bought one from Renault othe rweek as mine is disintegrating. 46 quid !!!! At least if you buy new you know it will last a while. Second hand may fall apart in no time depending on age. Can find part numbe rof receipt but just go in or phone, give them your reg and theyll find it in a few...

182 vs Cooper S in Autoexpress

End of the day guys it dont matter what teh mags think, they are an opinion and thats it. If you buy a car, its what you think of it. Do Vectra drivers care that Clarkson hates it so much. Dont worry. Just enjoy what you have if you like it and to hell with what anyone else thinks.

Email from ITG - Maxogen kit

So this only give 6 or 7 bhp more. 13 if you include the remap. Those who have had this have poo pooed all the others says the ITG is "proven". Well in my eyes the BMC CDA is "proven" as many on here have it including me on a valver. CDA gives about 6 or 7 bhp increase also I believe. If...

Clio 16v Calipers-Freshen up with silver

As I own a blue valver the blue calipers look ok but wish I had gone for gold. I would definately say silver or gold for calipers on a black clio.

    MOT Failed

Mine sailed through. Just look after your car and it will look after you. Atomic, get your tyres changed pronto, its better than ending up in a hedge or hospital !!!!!

    **Dastek Unichip question**

Think someone could get them for £100 on here but thats supply not fit. God knows how long that takes and the thing with these programmable ECUs is that they are only as good as the person who programmes them.

OK! seriously! H&R’s -V- FK Coilovers!

H&R more well known, pricier but not sure if better. FK use Koni internals, come with lifetime warranty if fitted by a FK authorised supplier. POssibly cheaper. Both are german, TUV approved etc so not much in it really.

    Noisy Power Steering

Yeah second the use of Wynns stuff, or Slick 50 do one if you can find it. Both recomended for us on the valver. Also try bleeding agin, basically do until no more bubbles appear.

    Meguiars - advice needed.

Depends on how often you are gonna use stuff. 3 stage kit is best if you have te time, if not then just use gold class washa nd gold class wax. Mit, applicator pads, wipe, etc are worth getting to.

    redex petrol treatment

Yeah Wynns do a pro range that is available at garages. Bit stronger than normal blue packaged stuff but very good.

    redex petrol treatment

Think additives in petrol are good for keeping things clean but over time injectors etc wil need a proper cleaning. Additives like Redex will help. Should do every 6K miles or so. STP, Wynns, Slick 50, Redline are also good fuel system cleaners. Try and see if it makes a difference but I am...

£120 to change a wheel bearing

When mine went got both done. Think it was about 26 quid each for bearings and about 1.5 hours for both sides, with the knackered bearing taking longest to remove. 2 hours seems excessive. I would stand and watch them to see how many cups of tea they have during the job !!!!

    just quickie about tyres

Some people on hear have used those tyres and swear by them. Also fiat coupe owners I think say thay are good. Do a search on google and you will find. Possibly better tyres than the Toyos. Think u will find a few people have tried Toyos and they arent the best when it gets damp.

    Nope Wasnt That

Got mine done by mechanic. Dont mind doing brakes and stuff like that myself but when it starts to get busy under the car prefer taking it somewhere proper. Not sure how noticable the ball joint failure is but mine knocked on rumble strips, humps, etc and thought it was just suspension...
  21. M

    Nope Wasnt That

Think Ball joint is on control arm suspension bit, basically wheel is attached to all that so when u go over bumps etc if it is loose it will make a noise. Found mine to be gone last year only a few weeks after MOT so probably was like that when it passed. Hence changed place I get my MOT...
  22. M

    Nope Wasnt That

Could be ball joint. Dont think wheel bearing as that is more of a rumble noise but definately check ball joint. Only about 12 quid for new one and not worth thinking about if it breaks at any speed !!!

    guestimated power gains please

I would speak to Andy at GDI or check a post he put on here ages ago that consisted of 172 new cams and teh SMT6 programmable chip.

    Car Passed MOT ;0)

Yeah mine failed on a handbrake cable 2 years ago. Hopefully it is always something minor. Hope yours isnt too major to get sorted.

    Car Passed MOT ;0)

Always worry over large repair bills but nowt to worry about. Thought it may fail on emissions due to decat and no printount given by place last year. Passed though so most peeps should have nothing to worry about if a decat is fitted.

    BMC CDAs

Available from most places but need teh throttle body adaptor from either KTEC or made up yourself. I just drew round throttle body inc holes, bolt lengths etc and got someone to make the same but with a lip on to allow silicone hose attachment. Inlet is at back of engine bay near coolant...

How much You’re avin’ a giraffe!!

Id definately go for a devil, magnex or supersprint stainless exhaust. Most come with a lifetime warranty and would save the same thing happening again on a OE exhaust replacement.
  28. M

    BMC CDAs

Nope, got it engineered myself. This is the problem with the CDA, either draw what you want and get it fabricated or hopefully now obtain from KTEC.
  29. M

    BMC CDAs

Oh yes, my K&N that came on the car when I bought it just made a loud noise and sucked in hot air. BMC is a great bit of kit but you have to get a throttle body adaptor fabricated or but the one KTEC have made for their viper, if they will sell seperately. Pic of BMC fitted ...

    All you 16v/willy owners....

Magnex for looks although now finding a little too loud in conjunction with supersprint manifold. Best for power probably supersprint who publish their gains on website or devil. Magnex came on car when I bought it so cant grumble.
