Modern day vehicles are all about compromises, you may have a Subaru that in one form has won a rally but the punter in the street will never use anywhere near that potential. They are more bothered about how much it costs to run, is it easy to break into, how much shopping you can put in it...
Captain, whilst I tend to ignore these messages where one person disputes what another is saying I would say one thing. You mention lowering, filters etc are crap because manufacturers would sort it out first time! I would disagree with this, why do Ralyy teams etc go to ITG for their filters...
Paul, Only picture I have is the one you can see above. Came by email from the peeps who did this and is 1.3 KB. Cant send it from my hotmail anywhere as I am limited to 2kb.
Not sure how this differs from the Viper other than in the size of the unit and filter itself. Viper seems quite...
Total price for this initial kit was £220. That was for the fabricated metal adaptor to fit on the throttle body, silicone hose, CDA filter kit, 3 hours of trying to get it to fit and a RR to find out the result. Air in take is fron the supplied flexi hose going downwards towards the...
Its only taken me an hour to try and get this working!!!
Hope it works:

Id be biased towards the BMC CDA as Ive just had one fitted to my 16v. Seems afew people at the midlands meet have had a CDA or Viper on their 172 so hopefully they can anser better than me as to which is best.
My Clio came with a Magnex cat back and K&N fitted by the previous owner I bought it off. If the PiperX is like the K&N it makes a nice noise but that is it. Would recommend the BMC CDA over any other induction kit out there simply because it will avoid sucking in hot air.
RR test was done after fitting the CDA and driving it to the RR place. Did not go through the hassle of putting the K&N back on to find out what it was before. Sure it would have been much less anyway. First time I have had a RR done and I was well scared, especially as they were astounded...
They did take pics of the kit installed and I am waiting for them to send me them to put on here.
To try and explain, when I removed my K&N there is a metal plate seperated by a rubber template/gasket that fits on the throttle body. Inlet of this is egg shaped. They made this egg shape into...
I was gonna go for the Viper but Pipercross say it wont go in the 16v. Not sure why as they do one for the RSi 8v. CDA looks a much better kit anyway and I think the price is reasonable due to the quality, metal fabricated adaptor that would be needed and top quality silicone hose. Ive got...
Place I got the Kit from have been liaising with BMC, both the importer and in Italy. The "kit" available for the clio 1.8 16v is not really a kit as an adaptor is reqd to fit to the throttle body. It is not plug and play at all. I sent drawings and photocopies of the throttle body plate and...
After taking 3 hours to fit and a lot of messing withing trying to move the battery a little to make extra space the CDA is now fitted.
Definately worth the money and much better than the K&N than my car came fitted with. RR proved 148 at the flywheel which I thought was quite good...
Got my BMC CDA fitted on friday. Took 3 hours. RR is quoting 148 at the flywheel now against standard 137 bhp with just a Magnex cat back system and teh CDA. Feels a whole lot better than the K&N hot air sucker I used to have.
Just tried that Top Gear best price thing througha link and best price for the Cup is apparently: £11,841.
Company is a Renault dealer called Walsworth based in Hitchin in Herts. David Pavey is the chap you need to speak to if any1 is after anything and his email is...

Front speakers are where you need to spend the most money as that is where the sound staging will be and where you want the sound to be. Rears are simply to fill in the sound.
Front speakers should be 5.25 inch and rears 4 inch. If you use a stealth shelf you can fit bigger speakers in the...
Suppose like everything else it is down to how it is fitted.
My car felt a lot smoother and pulled better after fitting. Fuel economy also went up to near 400 miles a tank compared to about 330 max.
As the ecotek is pointing upwards it has taken the paint of my bonnet where it touches it...

Does seem to pull a bit better and seems smoother but then I also cleaned and re-oiled the K&N at the same time.
If it does get rid of Carbon build up then I can see it working but guess you have to do it regularly. Doubt it would do much iof your car has done 100k and never used it before!
Anyone else used this stuff that is supposed to decoke the engine and give you back some BHP.
Just used some on my Clio whilst the K&N was off. There is a hose that provides suction right by the throttle body and spent the best part of a night spraying this can of stuff up there.
You are...
