Generally accepted that they do nothing for your engine other than add noise, and in a lot of cases, you lose bhp. On a hot summers day it's even worse due to the heat soak apparently. I'm not talking from experience here though.

I still get that, always have, but I ALWAYS get much better mileage from V-power, and I'm talking an extra 5-7 mpg compared with supermarket toss.

Same here. The one and only time I went on track with a tankful of Tesco 99 slop, I ran out mid afternoon. Every other time on the same track with V-power liquid lovliness, I'd still have enough left to drive home at the end of the day.

Did you try it with both sensors fitted? There's something about 172 Cups that means often the dash-light won't show even if both sensors are in. Mine's been fitted for almost a year now, well over 20,000 miles, and my light's never lit up :D

You are so wrong. You may drive along oblivious to what you can sense, but 89kgs less to me makes a huge difference, come road or track...and that's not me being a 172 Cup fanboy. Also, your comment about "me" not being able to afford a FF172 is laughable at best :D

77k on mine as said, is treated with respect day to day, but come track time it takes a right beating. Always had and always will until the end of its life. Decent power figures now at 77k too as the Surrey Rolling road proved on Saturday :D The only thing I've done is half the service...
