Yep, that was me. I've never seen an Inferno Clio in the area though.
I'll keep an eye out, and we can have a friendly standard owner/tuned enthusiast tussle when our paths cross ;)
You can't say that!
I've chosen to learn how to drive my Clio properly instead of throwing money at the engine to compensate for my own driving inadequacies...but I'm still an enthusiast 110% ;)
You've missed the point I made above completely.
Why will he hit you if he's too close? He's only going to hit you if you have to react to something suddenly, and he himself has therefore got no time to react.
By giving yourself more space you're not going to need to have to react suddenly...
Another option would be to spend the money on trackdays and driver training.
I think that would give you more laptime gains in a standard car, than an extra 50 bhp ever would. Plus, you keep the "skills" for life.
Wouldn't it?
I'm due a crash this winter. The apparent laws of probability that apply only to non-ABS equipped 172 Cups mean there's a ditch somewhere with my name on it.
I'll make sure I carry my digicam around with me so you can all share the joy when the inevitable happens ;)
Stick with the discs you've got, they'll be fine once the pads have bedded in.
I ran DS2500's for about 10K before changing them for some Pagid Blues, and they weren't even half worn when I took them out, so they last very well.
Is it much consolation knowing you are completely in the right, and the other person's in the wrong, when the back of your motor's stuffed in and you've got the time, hassle, and out of pocket expense of getting your car back on the road...all because you wanted to make a point?
If you get a...
Great pics Lee.
Good to see a 997 GT3 RS out, but this one, what a wuss, why did he go with silver wheels and not orange :S

Thanks :D

I've just got myself a new laptop through work, and I told my IT guy I wanted something half-decent that was workable.
It seems good enough, and I know it's got a 60gb hard-drive.
How do I find out the rest, processor, ram, all the other things?
Where do I look? I've not got clue...?
I thought that too when I saw the Evo rip the V6 a new one...your 1.2 was faster round a track Fred.
Not heard of confidence braking before? No one or book has ever mentioned it before? I guess a quick light stab just lets you know there's pressure there without impacting acceleration noticably?
Ooh, that was a close one mate, glad you got through it ok.
What could you have done differently?
From an advanced driving perspective;
had the driver in front given you any clues already that they were a bit of a novice? If so, you could of extended your stopping distance by dropping back...
I only saw a little of that Fred, but weren't they just tapping the calipers back into contact with ther discs on the straights prior to the braking zones?
Cool video though :)
I run a Sony DCR-HC18E Chris, and it's worked very well for me over the last three years.
It was about £400 IIRC when I bought it - MiniDV tapes, pull onto the PC through a firewire link into Windows Media, upload, job done.
£30 if you look hard enough will find you a genuine Sony battery on...
I wish you well and hope you have many miles of incident free motoring, but your comment above has illustrated just how much you have to learn about driving and car control in general.
If I were you I'd be booking up some form of advancded driver training as soon as possible, because unless...
I originally got one when I subscribed 2-3 years ago. Maybe they don't dish them out anymore.
You could always go on an Evo organised trackday...I picked up 5 stickers on the last one I went to.
K-tec stealth for me. A few have had quality issues, including me, but once resolved it's a great bit of kit.
I say it's subtle, and combined with a decat, sounds just how it should.

Smoothness and anticipation are the key to it.
That's why things like my brakes and wheel bearings have lasted so long as well.
Actually, I barely grip the wheel at all normally, I use a very light finger-tip touch - feedback is far less diluted.
It's gone where my hands rest, but it's definitely not down to it being gripped too hard. It's purely because what Renault refer to as leather, is actually not leather (or if...
Harsh ;)
It does clean up OK, it's just that, well...I never (hardly ever) clean it.
I can count on one hand how many times it's been through a carwash in the last 12 months.
There are far more important/pressing things for me to do on a Sunday than spend 3hrs shivvering my tits off!
