And check out the back of the drivers seat...
"My seat is squeaking" I said.
"We'll sort it out for you sir" said the Renault monkeys when Mike had a day off.
So they took the cover off and threw grease at the springs...and the grease has been working its way back out ever since.
That's all I've needed pretty much too Oms...one rear bearing went recently needing new rear discs...but I'm still on the original factory fitted rear brake pads.
Original front wheel bearings too which is remarkable considering the amount of times it's clattered over apex kerbs while wearing...
Go and do your IAM Roy... ^^^ ... you're almost there already.
What I teach, and what I practice, is to be asking yourself this constantly as you drive, regardless of time/conditions;
What can I see?
What can't I see?
What can I reasonably expect to happen?
If you are asking yourself those...
They handle just fine in the wet, but the grip's not too good at the back if you unbalance the car.
What happened to you sounds just like what happened to me here...
Only, that was all my fault. Rippled surface on the corner contributing to understeer, vehicle approaching, lift of the...
I think the 10 bhp is a myth.
At a Janspeed rolling road day, there was an even mix of 182's and 172's. They were all, give or take 2-3 bhp here and there, exactly the same. The top 3 figures overall were 172's though...probably down to mileage as the 182's had not been out that long.
Not just cheap tyres though, I've had my Turinis fitted with Michelin PE2's balanced 3 times now and I still get a slight intermitant vibration through the wheel.
To Billy...
Are you running standard wheels?
If they're aftermarket your vibration could be down to incorrect spigot rings.
Ha ha ha ha ha LMFAO
Truly comical...what a pr*ck! All the gear and no fcuking idea.
Went past that camera at about 80mph...and couldn't pull up at the junction in time.
Very lucky for the traffic on the main road that he didn't t-bone anyone.
IIRC, the claim value paid out by Greenlight for 172 Cups, was more than ALL other Renaultsport Clios put together.
So that's more paid out on the proper Cup than on the FF172, FF182, 182 Cup, Trophy, 16v, Williams, V6 MkI, V6 MkII combined...
I just renewed my insurance with Herts...
Do you mean IAM? If so, definitely worth it...for the fuel savings alone.
Why is it that everyone thinks they were born with the natural ability to drive?
Regardless of insurance savings everyone should do it. As chiefsilverback said above, general quality of driving is apalling, yet so few...
My Cup just passed its first MOT 2 weeks ago - passed by a tester who was briefed by Rentech Mike about the Cups braking balance before it went through.
To give you an idea of how little the rear brakes are supposed to do, I've covered;
74,000 miles since new
5 airfield sprint days
Approx...
That was the Richardson's uncle :)
Out of all my clips this Brands one is my personal favourite...the backwards camera really shows how hilly the circuits are.
I'm looking for volunteers to sit behind me at Cadwell some point next year...?
One for Weeman this I think...almost 5 minutes of the Richardson in action. Let me know if it works for you and I'll see what else I can dig up ;)
Renaultsport trackdays...limited numbers, lots of trackspace, open pitlane, and Marshalls that occassionally look the other way when you're having...
If they did the Cup that I've got, with the DCi 100 lump in it, I'd buy one.
No better way to cover 70 miles per day IMO.
Still keep the proper one for the track/sprint/breakie runs though
