Was the engine fully warmed up when you hit the limiter too early? The limiter's lowered until your engine oil is up to temperature...which can take longer than the water temperature indicated by the guage in your dash.

I've got a K-Tec Stealth fitted and cannot fault it. Sound-wise it's more than bearable - little louder than standard when you want it to be quiet, but give it full load at high revs and it rasps and screams. Perfect :D
