there is an adjuster nut at the top of the alternator, ive never done that as mine is missing i have to manually do it :D

yeah very true! mine was loose after its major service:rolleyes: had to tighten it up

is it as soon as you turn the key ( quick squeak and then its fine) if so the belt might be slightly loose, give it a tighten it should stop:)

been thinking the past couple of days, is there a conversion inlet manifold for the 172. Like the diabas conversion inlet for the corsa b gsi c16xe engine, basically a shortend inlet for less drag! They can also be made! Has anyone ever done this? Anyone know where i can find out more info...

yeah mate got it sorted out, bought new bolts from renault yesterday, £1.31 for 2! bargain:D just halfrauds paint mate, grey tins! done about 3-4 coats;)

no, doesnt get that hot tbh, its been tried and tested as i drove down to the fcs and back with it done, over 1000 miles and its still Aok:approve:

mate i was exactly the same until about a week ago! fair enough i love it to bits but ive stopped caring about it going wrong, its french, it will go wrong;) drive it and have fun, who cares about the milage:D

usually get 37-38mpg around town and on the way up from the fcs i was getting 45 ish doing about 70-75 mph:)
