They sold for £800 only a few months ago;).
With your £500 budget I'd start with something like the Wharfedales you posted above (they get great feedback on AVforums) and then blow the remaining £200 on an amp and get other speakers as and when.
Stretching the budget a little would get you this which would be far better than the Teac...
It's nothing like an engine mod lol. With an engine mod you can still drive around normally without drawing attention.
With things like plates and tints etc it's always on display every time you go past the police which leads to getting pulled over more like you say happened to you. Kind of...

The car has a few other issues but this one is the worst. You can't get anything bigger than a small coffee without the top popping off and spilling everywhere. And it can be awkward to get in/out when in 5th.
Not to mention you have to put a cloth or something in the other holder if...
I used to work in a place that used HEAT 9 years ago and I found it good then.
The place I work at now did use Sunrise which seemed okay and now we use one called Cherwell which again is okay.
Tbh most of them are only as good as the people setting them up...
But when it's sat on the stand like that pic it makes zero difference if it's 10mm thick or 2 inches...
As for power sucking, you do realise on average viewing they work out at about £30-40 a year more than led. Not worth making a buying decision on!

You'd be better off getting some decent calibration settings from AVforums and using that all the time. You would have better picture quality all the time with no strain and will also lower the power consumption over the standard settings.
