Cheers for the good comments people:).
We'll have to sort something out soon. I'm looking forward to seeing your new scooby (if you haven't sold it by then lol).
Well following on from imprezaworks thread.

I got a lift over from the old man this morning to pick up the bean. Absolutely love it. I've been wanting a bean for a while now and when I saw he was...
It's one of the hardest colours to get right on pics. They look so much better in the flesh:).
Can't wait to pic it up, just hoping the snow doesn't pile down tonight:mad:.
No, but to say Denon don't make a good receiver is quite laughable. People go on about the great advice you get from RS but tbh I don't think they're all that half the time. There knowledge is no where near as good as my local specialist but if you know what you're after RS do some cracking deals...

Go for a Series 2 though as they are concidrably better than the S1's (that goes for your 601's also).
It will be 167mm with the feet.

You'd need an amp with it. I'd get this with it.

You would then have a £1250 system for the bargain price of £550 which is bloody good imo!
As for the cables they're not that bad. Just run the 2 surround cables...
These are a superb deal at the moment. I realise you say you don't want surround but at this price they are difficult to ignore;).

That's because your spreading the cost over 7 amps rather than 2 so you would need to spend more on an AV amp to get the same stereo sound of a cheaper stereo amp... With an all in one then the cost is also spread on the DVD player and speakers so tend to be a lot worse still...
With what the...
