you need 17x7 ET37 for a MK2 172

You need ET37 offset (4x100 PCD) then you can lower it upto 100mm!!!! (just like my car!!!)

yeah but thats due to offset, 16s in my opinion shoud be 7inches wide (max) on 195/45 16s I know a bloke that has the same clio as mine and he put TSW 7.5x16s on it unlowered and it rubbed to buggery!!!! Also dogumal has 7.5x17 on his 172 unlowered and his scrubs to buggery also
