I fitted them with the help of jon16v (neither of us really had a clue what we were doing but we got there in the end, it took us a cople of hours) I can now lower or unlower the back of my clio in about 30mins. The front takes about 2hrs in total
im selling mine if you want them, they are about 3-4months old (i cant remember off the top of my head) I got them from Motech (clios from 98 onwards have the same set up) i paid £85
yeah, but it looks like a rollerskate on 17s and a 40mm drop, it NEEDS to go lower!!!! If the top mounts collapse, ill just wack the standard springs back on and take it back to Renault!!!!
The pipercross web site is incorrect, i used the part number off there and ended up getting an induction kit for a 172!!!!!! I think mine is a PK208c (i cant remember exactly cos ive thrown away the box, sorry)
The idiots at halfords forgot to tell me its going to be a two week wait for 60mm SPAX springs so i cancelled my order and ordered 60mm Pi springs from Carnoiseur instead. Anyone got any opinions on Pi???? Are they any good????
Jamie, try Wheel Mania, they wanted £800 for new 17inch SuperLs (although they advertise them at £889!!!) Theyll do you a good deal on 16s (the owner has got a clio V6 with 20 or 21inch wheels + 360modenna with19s and full bobykit + a merc ML430 with 22inch wheels!!!!)
You need to take them off. Get some yellow filler primer + Grey primer + Car colour + Clear Lacquer all from halfords and you’ll need some wet and dry (800plus grit)
2-3coats of filler primer
rub smooth
2-3coats grey primer
rub down
2-3 final colour
2-3clear lacquer
rub down with 1500...
Well, ive lowered my car, put 17s on it, wacked in a sound system and an induction kit, and done some colour coding and theres more to come and Renault havent said anything yet!!! I dont really care though, i can take all the parts off if anythng major goes wrong. If you do anything to the...
that looks the same as my car when its on 15s lowered 40mm 172s are between 10-20mm lower than a standard car so i rekon its some of those Eibach springs (think it was a 30mm drop). It looks the same as a bloke i was speaking to at Santa Pod his 172 was on the Eibach springs
i love this kit, but im not 100% sure its real!!!! Ive seen it on another site with a different exhaust and it also says prototype so this makes me think its computer generated, i would like to know if its real though cos i really want that rear bumper extension!!!!!!
Yeah, the Pipercross kit comes with an adaptor plate, its made from aluminum. I can e-mail you a pic if you want???? Im going to change the filter for a bigger one (maybe a mesh jap one) hopefully it will be slightly louder
Oh yeah and i pay £1100 on a 1.2 16v!!!!!! And the punch line is, im main driver on my mums policy (and the car is group 3E insurance!!!!!!) ive got 3pts and two claims (one was my old clio that i rolled ooops!!!!)
The side mouldings for the 172 come in primer ie are already smooth. The ones on the sandard clio are dimpled plastic, and these need leveling off with filler primer, again any body shop should be able to sort this no problems
