Won't be the carbon canister. From cold does it do it? Also when up and running for a while, say ten minute journey does it get up to temperature on the gauge?

False economy mate. Just buy the better tyres now, trust me. So she has no new shoes. Think she will understand you want the best tyre you can afford. if she doesnt understand and kicks up a fuss then p/x her for a newer model. Imo of course :)

Yeah with a new exhaust ;). You will have to weld the hole, which im sure you know. But if money is tight and you want to mess about (in a good way) then go fo it :)
