New Project! Iceberg 172 Cup

Hi folks been roughly a year now since my 172 had engine troubles and had to get shut, but the bugs never left and I've had to buy another!

I had a 172 sport last and decided I wanted a cup and managed to find this iceberg cup what I'm told are rare so hopefully won't loose any money on her, I've bought off Chi after looking around a few shankers at dealers.

Luckily it's got a few little bits (carbon washer blanks, eibach springs & 15" pro race 1.2's) so saves me a bit of money [emoji4]

It's got a few niggles which are annoying me but nothing that can't be sorted out.. Anyhow, pics

Will update with better pics and keep up to date with mods etc will be on the forum a lot more now I've got another [emoji106]

Gave it a good clean up comes up quite well

Bought a 182 manifold for it as well so that's first mod [emoji108]

It's no show winner but it will be a clean car by time I'm done, want this one to last me, if I get it mint I'm hoping it should hold its value

Today's job was to sort out the cloudy headlights and fit the new exhaust I'll let the pics do the talking ...

Hi all just to update the thread got some pics from weekend, took the car to the RR day at EFI Parts in Runcorn and it ran a respectable 169.8bhp but the torque figure seems pretty low, and it's got a flat spot mid range? Any one know why this could be ? He said the car is still pulling right to the redline and it could be possibly the timing ? But I thought If Timing was out it would run poor power ?

Wish I had your patience with the headlights lol. Did you buy this off chi?

Mdoesn't really take patience I worked in a body shop so I've done them a few times, and yeah got it off him a month or two back [emoji106]

Not updated this for a while..

A while back I got shut of the pro race 1.2s and replaced them with Speedline Turinis which I liked but after a while got bored and wanted 15" wheels again for cheaper tyres and to make it a bit different to standard cups

Also removed the yozzasport system for now it's got the standard system on it but this will soon change as I don't like the look of backbox hanging down..

Then today I've decided to remove the carbon canister as it's had an annoying ticking coming from it so as it was only a 10 minute job i decided to get shut of it..

Blocked the pipe to the rocker here

And also blocked up the end where it connects to the canister and then cable tied it to the inner wing where the canister originally was bolted.

And this has just happened [emoji30]

Apologies for lack of progress but I've been undecided on keeping the car, just had to buy the timing belt kit and dephaser pulley so I'm now skint till payday more progress next month hopefully [emoji106]
