my dad has an 08 plate none sporty 1.9 Audi A3 diesel and the brakes are amazing. they have some serious stopping power. yet when i get into my clio the brakes are dull and have no stopping power. once bedded in these better be good.

indeed, they could really do with a thrd coat but ran out of time as the rain come.

brembo disks and ferodo pads im hoping these are going to be good, i also did a brake fluid change two weeks ago

all went very well, except the shitty Ferodo DS pads which didnt fit properly and i have to get the bench grinder out to file the edges to get them to fit. there was a good 1-1.5mm needed to be removed, not impressed. also painted the calipers whilst i was there

anyone?

ive searched high and low for some pics of a blue 182 with red calipers. anyone got a pic? im painting this weekend and wondering what colour, seen yellow, black and silver on here but not red. cheers

and how would i find the torque for the rears?

im looking at changing disks all round and need some info. i found this info posted by Fred for the front. undo torx screws on disc undo 1 x 13mm lower caliper slider bolt and remove caliper remove pads undo the 2 x 18mm bolts holding the pad carrier to the hub tw*t disc off with hammer...

so the front and rear have different min thickness! apparently front and rear of mine are below mine. 05 182, 58k miles.

ok thanks 21.4mm that fooking precise LOL so your only allowed a few mill of ware on disks!!

where would i find information on the legals for thickness of brke disks and how they are measured?

ok the car passed its MOT just, but i got an advisory note saying the pads and disks need changing. now pete from auto-nation said the rear disks and pads dont need upgrading as they only do 25% of the braking. but ren-o-tech in chelmsford said if you uprate the front pads you should uprate...

took my car to Ren-o-tech in chelmsford today for a service and MOT. everything on the car is fine except the pads and disks. apparently i need new disks and pads all round!! front pads are 90% worn with only 1.5mm left and the rears are 90% worn with 1mm left. getting them changed isnt...
