Well after many many years of loving Aston's since I was a teenager, I had the opportunity to be a passenger in a V12 Vantage today :approve: :D
Its the fastest car I've ever had the pleasure of being in (I know its not a Veyron) but its still an amazing bit of kit and the noise.....OH THE...
Yesterday I noticed my engine started making a high pitched buzzing/whirring noise which increases with engine speed. No idea what it is but it sounds as though its coming from the belt side of the engine where all the pulleys are.
Could it be bearings in alternator/PAS/aircon pump? Cam belt...
Anyone here? Coming from Hethersett way towards Wymondham, It was between 4:30 and 5:30 I cant quite remember lol
Sounded awesome rumbling down the road :)
Any of you guys that arent TOO far from Wymondham able to weld my rear box hanger back on? Its stainless and its almost broken off, hanging on by a little bit of weld :dapprove:
Basically Ive had 4 Toyo R1R's on and the fronts are getting near the wear markers, and with my upcoming 'ring trip approaching I'll need to replace them.
I fancy trying Federal RS-R's as they seem to have a better wear rate from what I've read. However I will only be replacing 2 tyres as the...
Basically I trapped an injector plug wire between the fuel rail guard and the inlet manifold and it shorted it out, causing it to misfire.
I found the what Id done straight away and removed the guard, pulled the wire straight etc and it runs fine again.
There is only slight break thru on the...
Been doing my tracking (stringing method :) ) today and upon measuring each side, it turns out that I have 2 different pairs of 15" OZ F1's, Im guessing one is aftermarket and 1 is Ph1 172 spec.
They're ever so slightly different in that the "concave" bit where the wheel bolts/centre cap is...
Well after only 7000miles including 2 track days, my EBC Yellowstuffs are down to feck all, didnt even realise and didnt expect it so soon.
Took the wheels off to change the front shocks today and looked down to find about 1.5mm of pad left on all 4 :S
Will most likely get some DS2500's, but a...
These are my first "panning" shots using my new camera, so any constuctive criticism welcome ;)
All pics were shot hand-held with no tripod/monopod and only a couple had minimal editing, the rest are as shot :)
Firstly its my first DSLR so Im a complete beginner at this......
Been down Snetterton circuit for a few hours over the weekend taking hundreds of pictures, ALOT of which were rubbish and out of focus :o
But, I nailed a few good ones (IMO) but nowhere near perfect. Basically some constuctive...
Just did a quick photoshop (not the best!) as Ive never seen this combo...I know its Williams-esque but I think it works quite well with Monaco
Im sure some will hate but opinions welcome anyway ;)
Or a darker, goldy bronze colour
Although no pics yet!! It only came today! I did give my spoiler a going over just to try it out (as you do :) ) and very impressed with the results :approve:
Anyone else using these? Or used them?
Ive had mine on now for around 500 miles and Im very impressed with them so far :)
Dry grip is very good, and sidewalls are pretty stiff but not SO stiff as per R888's, much quieter!
Im also very impressed with wet weather performance too for a more track...
Anyone know a ball park figure for retrimming the outer part of my Momo steering wheel? Its suffered some wear in the form of scuffs and wearing thin on the edges and sunlight damage.
Ive not had it on a car for about 6years and its just been sat around.....
Ill let the pics do the talking...
It was on ebay, seems a bit of a bargain, MOT runs out in a couple of weeks mind!

Anyone here?
Carfolio.com tells me that the Phase 2 172 has a track width of 1406mm front and 1386mm rear, can anyone confirm this? This is for the "normal" one not the cup.
on the same site, the 182 is listed as having 1430mm and 1408mm respectively. Is this correct? Just trying to gauge how accurate the...
I bought some Eibach camber bolts, put them in roughly roughly this morning and went to get them adjusted @ a 4wheel alignment place this afternoon.
I'm aiming for -1.5deg on the front with -0.05 toe.
Firstly, the car was put on the machine and I got a print out if its current spec.
It was...
From what I understand the rear has around -1.3 (?) degrees of camber? What is the standard figure on the front with a completely stock car (not lowered)?
Thanks
:approve:
I know they have different cats and some have 1 lambda and some 2.
I have a Phase 2 172 with 2 lambda's and a standard cat in.
Im looking at a 2nd hand cat back system from a Phase 1. Im unsure if its a double or single lambda but it has the 2 cats side by side.
From what I understand theres...
I've always wondererd why alot of people like to make the rear of the car lower than the front :S (in a fwd car)
Surely this makes the handling alot worse due to weight transfer and all that.....and it looks a bit gash IMO!
Thoughts?
For the past few months my seat seems to be making a little knocking noise when my weight shifts ever so slightly, say when I go over small bumps in the road.
Its the right hand side of it, that seems to do it.
If I move the seat on the slider sometimes it will go away for a while, sometimes...
Just came accross these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-CLIO-SPORT-172-182-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-2-5-/110616614324?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c14395b4 on ebay. Anyone ever bought one? Im not going to be, just curious.
I know the old saying "you get what you pay for" but they...
A few pics from the track day last Thursday :) Had a brilliant day, it was my first all day one. As you can see it was pretty damp all morning, slowly drying out in the afternoon ;)
Hence why the car is so filthy!!
And with a mystery 172....
