Somebody painted the plenum red!!!!! What were they thinking?????
Its easy to do just need to be really careful with masking it all off before you do it!! Was suprised how simple painting the engine cover was though!
So i get your approval even though its not a cup?? lol :)
Your just saying that!!! lol ;)
My engine bay looks good but not sure how to add a pic on someone else's thread. There are pics on here somewhere in the media section though.
Haha dont temp me, I drive past one everyday on my way to the station and it has the stripes and has been lowered!!!!
I think the 182 looks brilliant in that blue!!!!
Does anybody have any ideas or pic for heatsheilds to fit a Powertec cone filter, it doesnt come with one and seems to be ok without it but I would like to reduce any hot air getting in as much as possible. Iv seen the crappy metal ones you can get for like £20 to clip over it but i dont like...
I only did it because the blue hosing and red brace looked a bit odd together with the standard engine cover.
The pics dont really do it justice, looks so much better in the flesh!!!
No i took the engine cover off and did that with a Plastkote clear primer and spray paint.
I used grade 1500 sandpaper (really fine) to sand the cover prior to painting and the inlets and fuel rail i did with a combination of spray and normal liquid engine enamel and lots of masking up!!! lol :D
It shouldnt be, from what I can tell its basically the same as my OMP one iv got, the right hand side of it needs a bit of a wiggle to get it in though!!!
Nope not at all, took about 15mins to put it on from taking it out of the box!!!
Just need 4 small pilot holes and the 4 selt tapping screws (provided) srew straight into the strut top!!!
I think it makes a big difference in cornering, iv got a non cup 172 so the suspension is a bit limp...
Yeah will do mate, worst case scenario is that I may not feel any substantial gains but it should help the fuel consumption!!! lol
Is there a guy who has a civic type R near you, i remember seeing a black 182 outside a house a couple of times recently with the civic next door i think...
Yeah thats just a couple of mins around the corner.
Havent seen a Black 182 round this way before. Theres a guy in Avery Hill who has a 182 cup but thats the only other clio sport iv seen round here.
It takes me bout 1hr 45min on a good day driving sensibly ;)
The guy that does it is on...
Hi Mate,
Yeah im down by halfway street?
Where bouts are you based?
Yep im going up on the 14th. I was up there on Wednesday picking up astrut brace as I have familey literally 1 mile away from Jamsport!!! Great excuse to go up there!!:D
My 172 has just hit 75k and still feels as fresh as the day I bought it!!!
Keep it regularly serviced and itl be fine!!!
I agree the standard 5 spokes suit the 172 really well.
Here's mine!!
Yeah I got a smallish L shaped bracket that screws into the random hole next to the battery and the hose clip goes through the other end which the cone slides into, tighten it all up and off you go.
Il try and take a pick of the official one you get because I dont think its too difficult to...
Powertec induction cone with cold air feed (cant see this), sounds great and feels a bit better than standard air box.
I had a simota carbon air filter before, no real gains and too tight of a fit as it started scrapping the side of the battery and the sharp outer ring split my coolant hose...
