AG WS does not last. 476 will only need reapplication every couple of months. Go on eBay and buy some FK1000p or PB WS as above.

You have unforunately contradicted yourself. Getting the paint work corrected will need time and money. And the marks are likely to be down to previous washing with a sponge, yes. But also down to your method and products used as well. If you want to get your alloys refurbed and that's not...

The only thing you can do is use a heated jet dryer, like the Black Barron. Or maybe a small electric leaf blower. Depends on your budget. It can be solved, but may require investment (£60-200).
