No the test is to see what would happen if you rub the microfibres on your paint work. The idea being if you wipe off polish, wax or other products, you don't want MFs leaving fresh swirls on your corrected paintwork.
It won't degrade the bottle over the time scales you're talking about.
However, it will destroy the spray head over the space of a few days, if that.

Just to point out Richy, the glass polish is £14.99 and the kit is £19.99... and in the kit you get two felt pads, some polish and a rainx sealant... Not sure how that works out, money wise, but hey ho. Unlike Clark et al to over charge!
