Just to make sure mate, as it seems a common mis conception;
wash, clay, polish, protect.
Your paint work is really bare once you have clayed it, so you need to polish out the marks it has left and then protect it, so you don't need to remove the build up again.

Not being mean but I can't be bothered to link in but here is a check list;
Wash; Meguirars Gold Class (orange shampoo) + Sheepskin mitt.
Dry; Microfibre large towl/as plush* as you can find.
Clay; Meguirars smooth surface clay kit. Dark red box containing clay, lube and microfibre cloth...
Megs last touch, perfectly slippery, and can be diluted. Got two bottles made up before each detail, one 1:5, one 1:2.
Claying is surprisingly easy to bugger up and can really do some damage, leaving marks in the paint. I would suggest all newbies talk it through on here and do a search on...

I take everything on that website with a pinch of salt and never jump into/onto the latest craze when it comes to product...
IP barely affects the paint by hand. It is mainly designed for PC/Machine application.
There are a number of products that are being tested on DW at the moment, but to be honest, they provide minimal difference and the time involved is wasted when a quick trip to a local detailers will sort...
Can I offer you some advice hun. Never use a spray wax/tar remover/bug remover. They are designed to stick to paint work so that the chemicals can do their job and be worked in. Therefore, if they get on plastics, rubber, in cracks and crevasses between panels, they are a bugger to get off...

Now you see, these are getting better and better. I have been keeping a close eye on the products each time they come up on DW. The waterless washes are pisch tbh. But these are quite good. Not that cheap however!!
