Was about to jump in with claying.
Wet sanding is brave, but well worth it. Just go slow. I don't do glazes instead of sealents, so would go for some Chem Guy's Blitz instead or as well as, just for some protection :)
Mainly because it can be out of the price range of some. It is seen as a bit of a named brand, like buying BMW over Ford. But the reasons speak for themselves. DW is usually about the newer products/bargain options. Hence Dodo getting more of a shout recently.
I love my Natty's Blue wax (not...
Hand the SRP is good, there are some more recent ones that have come out. They will brighten up the paint work nicely.
Again, not going OTT, I always Machine Polish SRP every couple of months, just to take back the build up of what ever is on the paint work (old waxes/sealents/crap)...
It is a bit of a "halfords/n00b/rush it" product mate, in all honesty.
Detailing can go on and on in terms of products and costs, but even when I was first starting out I went above that type of product.

Tom, I presume with this new Iphone coming out, Iphone gen 2s will come down in price dramatically? Debating what to do with the contract that has ended recently.
Yeah I saw a few of those going around on Ebay when I first started.
Bet I can't find my video now, but search on Youtube and Google Videos and should come up with some decent advice.
Make sure that the ones that you watch are designed to be followed by users of PC/Random Orbital Polishers...
I have one for hols as well, one off ebay fitted to the car, about 45/55 quid.
What ever you do, don't forget to take the aeriel off, otherwise you get a gay looking bent one :(
Yeah that's what I mean, it's usually around the wing mirrors/bottom of front bumper/spoiler, i.e. the usual places! I CBA getting the drying towel out again once I have started, so anything thing that can aid the drying process, score :)
The Gudies section of this forum is always a useful place to start for relatively simple questions like this, guys;

There are quite a few guides on Detailing World. But I have to say, the best help that I had was a guide that I found on the internet/youtube that basically had a video of the action required for a PC.
