Oh it was bonus time at work last month too so despite trying to hard to resist buying something completely pointless....I caved... And by God is it a lovely piece
Yeah all about servicing really, my 182 has had oil and filter every 6k miles since new along with all other servicing as and when. Also same as above, engine and gearbox never been rebuilt or opened.
So to fix the fuel leak I've ripped the aux tank off, split fuel everywhere and found more rust, plus the cap is now the phase 2 one from the grey car as they changed the design between phases so I'll need to paint that at some point.
Okay quick update, already done one trackday this year and I've put the odyssey into storage to concentrate on using this thing more. So first one was Donington last month and car was superb, couple of niggles with brakes but since then I've flushed new fluid through and got new rc6 pads to fit...
they're definitely not great examples, the track heap is tatty at best but a mechanically a weapon i guess, the daily RB is a leggy, rusty old bugger still chomping the miles at a current total of 240234 as of this morning at work! lol!
Onto silver scene wheels and even went to the trouble of matching the bullets and side repeaters up with oe ones.
Excuse the obliterated splitter, daily use doesn't suit carbon stuff.....
as above, it's literally almost never a cambelt snaps, almost invariably its a pulley or something in the aux system then lunched into the cambelt side.
My first 172 i bought a totally unknown engine for it (bought car with 'belt' failure and a lunched engine, lol) and i stuck a completely...
Finally bought and installed this couple days ago.... They gave me the million credits too which was odd but don't look a gift horse and all that.
Not got ripped in enough yet to see any challenging handling characteristics, mainly been in the EDC trophy tbh and it's quite chuckable really...
It's more than likely just the sliders in the carrier, can be disassembled, wire brushed clean and then lubricated and put back together.
I do this twice a year to all sliders on all four corners when I swap back and forth to the winter wheels
