Day out to Surrey rolling road today with the mk1 crew, although we're unfortunately mostly in mk2's or mk2 powered these days, only 2 F7 engines on show!
Took the phase 1 however to see how she was, nice stock car with nice stock power it transpires. Spec is totally stock, stock intake, airbox...
I upped my front spring poundage and fitted a roll correction kit, slicks work much much worse now and I need to re-geo for it...….softer springs and more roll was working perfectly before. damn the modding bug
The rsr was never a very good semi anyway so whatever replaced it isn't really going to help. Abrasion I guess is a major issue but a harder compound original r888 would maybe be decent middle ground?
Does the race serious stipulate original tyre circumference? So can't drop to 15"?
Use decent semi slicks too, rsr and ad08 are road tyres really, you want Dunlop direzza or nankang ar-1 really. Or original style r888 if you can find them
proving liability for that sort of damage would be a nightmare, tbh best to suck it up and just get the thing recut and lacquered at own cost really. for sake of 100 quid its not worth it, life's too short
Another couple of purchases made, trying to get the control surfaces back up to scratch and after 150k+ miles both stalks are worn, so found some nos ones and did a buy.
That's me matey  was down Birmingham for work. And cheers, she's not bad still from a decent distance, were you in a none Renault and nodded at me?
refitted the orange side repeaters to match the oe bulbs in the new headlights along with some nightbreaker bulbs
acquired a set of mk1 clio speedline maracana's from @Dr Jekyll 's mate and fitted my spare set of AD08R tyres too them, they are actually for the mk1 red track car, however...
F1's definitely suite the car better, but the Maracanã are a much much prettier wheel so I am torn...….. they're technically for the red track car anyway but couldn't resist a go on oddy too.
The wheel I am super super happy with, wouldn't sully the interior with anything aftermarket and the...
oh totally unusable in real terms, north of 300 just gets silly but for comedy value on point and squirt A road stuff that level of power and above is just hilarious
yeah traps from Chris are getting mad really, Rob has 0.2 on him on the 60ft though, 1.4 to 1.6 iirc which counts for loads up top despite trap of only 142 ish
See above, Chris is Scoff, same person and its just shy of the magic 1000bhp
still can't dip her into the 9's at pod though, he's ahaving such a mission with it despite Rob smashing a 9.9 think it was with the older F7 engine and about 700bhp
Not updated this for a while, had some more bits done to the car since the cambelt service, primarily to get the Aircon working as it's never worked under my ownership and after attempting to regas it during the cambelt service which resulted in a blown out condenser.
Mick sourced a new unit...
