Detailing here we come ;) :)
Norm is right about the plank of wood btw, a lot of people have to do this, especially ones with low cars eh Norm ;)
Jamie
Detailing is best lad.
Megs scratch x is great little product to get rid of scratches.
If you want to go all out, you could get someone to PC your car (orbital machine polishing will get rid of all swirls etc)
Jamie
200k? Noooo, seriously?? There are three in Knutsford and about five of the damn things in Alderley on a Sat night!!
Beautiful cars, love them to death, there is a beauty of a white one that cruises around.
Nice upgrade!
Jamie
None apart from adam hodges old un if memory serves.
Black is done because the 172 black and non sport black is the same colour, so no respraying required.
Haha, pipe down you, you have asked more questions in the last few weeks than I have in a month ;)
On a side note, next weekend, four days of fuuuuuuuuuuuuun
God I need a new girl friend lol!
Jamie
"The Uber Drying & Detailing Towel will not lint and is machine washable hundreds of times to give you a great towel that will last for years "
Hence the rest of mine have gone to pot!
Or polish/seal/protect it so well/much that all you need to do is snow foam and jet wash off.
I rarely clean my car anymore, I just snow foam and any dust comes off. Wheels only require a mitt and some warm, meggy gold class water :)
Jamie
Ha, did wonder.
Let me know about the britemax. I need to order another towel, need something as plush as possible, last couple haven't been that great :(
Jamie
NOt sure how I have only just spied this Andy, usually always in the detailing section lol.
I use Megs no;16 final inspection now. Get it in big tanks from CYC. Much better than spending around a fiver on Megs QD!!!
Jamie
The snow foam is meant as a pre wash . . . nothing more, nothing less. It is designed to take away as much of the first layer of dirt as possible, to minimise the amount that gets stuck in your washing sponge/brushes/mitt.
The two bucket method will again ensure that the least amount of dirt...
Yeah that is the issue with LEDs on cars that come with standard filament bulbs. The side lights/repeater lights should be no problem, but all other indicators will presume that there is no bulb present, meaning they will flash quickly, just like when a bulb has blown.
The flasher resistors...
Appreciate the advice Dave, I may well look into camber shims as the solution, if I can find a supplier. If not, I may very well just take the rear 15mm spacers off altogether!
Jamie
It is just a fix for me as silly as this sounds!
I don't want non-hubcentric spacers on the rear of my car. But if I have stuff in the back at the moment, with my 15mm spacers, my tyres rub on the outer arch edge. So unless anyone can think of a way to counter this?
Jamie
Out of interest, have you had to put in resistor packs for the rear lights?
When I upgraded my standard bulbs to LED ones, the car didn't understand the lack of resistance and so would not allow them to work (presumed no bulb was present).
Jamie
Ah nice, that is an interesting one! Could this cause any unwanted movement/damage/issues at all?
My car is going to Birchdown at two weeks today, is it possible that they could do this as the car is going to tweaks to be setup for tracking and camber etc?
jamie
explain? I need rear camber on mine as currently i have HC spacers, want 10mm ones but cant get them in HC, so other option is to add more camber allowing for the tyre to move away from the outside arch.
Jamie
I would buy new ones in all honesty lads, looking on the site it appears that they are around 20 euros per spring. Small price to pay for piece of mind, IF Birchdown think it is appropriate.
